hannibal - how much was the power rack? Looks pretty basic, just what I need.

I was looking at body solid's (and then later I can get the LAT addon)

chrislehr: I like yours...will try to find a pic or two of mine :)

Piece of junk power rack with bench: $99 from ubid.
Thick Bar: $30
Weights and oly Bar: Donated from the YMCA

I had to pay a bit for some of my strongman equipment...but I trained with next to nothing invested for a couple of years.

Ignore the handle guys, I am on my laptop and have not figured out how to disable cookies to change my handle on this computer.

Interestingly, my gym is named the "Dungeon". I don't have a picture to post, but I have a power rack, a lat pull/low pulley, bench boxes for squatting, bands, chains, a stablility ball, adjustable dumbells, and a black 1500lb rated powerbar, and about 700 lbs of weight. I have a reverse hyper bench that fits inside the power rack, and have figured out how to put together a glute ham raise using the bench, a ton of plates and the stability ball.

I got good prices on everything, bought good equipment, but really shopped around and ended up getting everything for around 1500 bucks. Not counting the bands and chains, I already had that before getting the gym. My dungeon is in a room in my house that was designed to be a study. I love it, and will not go back to a commercial gym unless there is an emergency.

How much money did you guys spend to build your home gym?

Squat rack was $250 from NewYorkBarbell...6 years ago. I want to upgrade but havent gotten around to it yet.

700lb Free Weights....DB's through 55...$300

Lat Pull Down Machine $300
Glut Ham Raise $700
Reverse Hyper (not pictured) $600 (had one built at least as good as Dave's)
Everything else is just built out of wood....boards, boxes, etc.

In the next few months I am going to be investing some SERIOUS jack into the gym.....Pansanella Squat Bar, Saftey Squat Bar, Buffalo Bar, Chest supported row (having one made), and one day soon a MONOLIFT :)

don't have a pic but I have

flat bench w leg extension/ham curl and 250lbs of weight
dip station
chinup bar
adjustable db's
2 barbells

it isn't a lot, but it works. Only thing I need is a power rack and maybe some extra weight.

Thanks Deceiver,

Yes, getting the weight home was a chore. I put it all in the back of my Yukon. It felt funny, the back was weighted down and the weights were shifting. Unloading them once home wasn't much fun either.

I think I have the same power rack that Hannibal has. It looks the same at least. Not fancy, but it doesn't need to be real fancy. I am considering designing a crepinsek style monolift to go inside the rack. I have some drawings, but haven't had the time to actually build it yet.

hehe for a long time my home gym consisted of a dumbell set and my adjustable armchair. I did have enough weights so I had to pile all the plates on one dumbell to do inclines, one arm at a time and just leanning back on the armchiar at maximum tilt :)

Taake about build up your core stability and strength :D

LOL!

Well if you must know, There is no room to stand up and do curls in my garage, anywhere I stand the barbell will hit the wall or something...so yeah i was haha

good point, but in my case i don't have the room...and i'm the only one who uses it so its not like i'm taking up a power rack at the gym while someone waits for squats

Awesome picture, Spatts! You are very photogenic!

Project is sporting the curly do....and epimetheus is sporting the no hair do...lol. :)

my "home gym" consists of a 10 year old weider bench w/ leg attachment, some adjustable dumbells, a 15 lb bar, 250 lbs of weight. my squat rack is 2 chains hanging from the ceiling w/ a hook on the end to rack the bar.

t3c ,looks like you got some nybarbell equipment also....nice setup.

Thanks Deciever,I still go to the gym for dumbell work etc..

Your crew is a little better looking than mine...but not much...haha

I challenge you (as the "Beat It" theme plays in the back ground) to a duel

lol

Hey give us some example lifts for those other two guys......they both look pretty built and I think youposted some picsof em working out once.

You guy's crew's are prettier than the Okie crew, but having two beautiful ladies kind of screws up the averages. Screwball took some pics today at the dungeon. We did not take a group photo, but he should be posting some action pics pretty soon.

I have to agree with Benchmonster. Out of all of the "crews" the Okie Crew is probably the least pleasing to the eye. We are a motley crew and what we lack in good looks we make up in other areas such as cleanliness. We are all very responsible about our hygienic practices and we are very well mannered. Sometimes we do curse but only when profanity is appropriate. Are you guys getting all of this???

Haha. Good stuff guys. I have a home gym myself, I just need to get a digital camera to make the picture process easier. Soon enough.

I have a power rack adjustable bench, 700+ lbs of plates, dumbells 12's-110's, Chains, bands, farmers walk implements, a high and low pulley with a smith machine attached to it(don't ask), dip bars, chinning bar is part of the power rack, one olympic handle dumbell, ez-curl bar, some standard plates that don't get used much, a wrist roller, and I think that's about it. Oh and a stability ball. Cost a bit of money, but worth it IMO.

This summer I plan on adding a Glute/ham raise and maybe in the winter a Reverse hyper.

thanks for the kind comments guys! (excuse the name change)

Next up will be the Body Solid Power Rack and LAT attachment. kickass....
