Exactly how important are carbs right after lifting? Unfortunatly, sometimes when im done lifting i down a protein shake(like 50 grams of whey), and maybe some creatine depending on what time of the year it is....and everynow and then i dont get any carbs. Usually I will have some cereal(rich in fiber since i dont like veggies), pasta, perogies, potatoes..u get the point. Anyhow days when I dont get these carbs, how detrimental is it?

need simple carbs post workout to keep body from using protien as fuel and to replace glycogen stores. also helps absorption of creatine

get carbs , unless in ketosis
it can be fairly detrimental. its easy and cheap, just do it
dextrose is what i use

I will agree with everyone on this thread, carbs are extremly important after your workout. Down 50-100Grams after training, with some protein ofcourse.

Uhh, switch that whey to Nlarge 2. Done.

So should someone who's cutting still take them in p.w.o? Because I had gone off my Nlarge while I try to cram my fatass back into my 34's.

I try to only get 50-100g of fast acting carbs, so look at the type of carbs you ingest after working out. For me I feel the sugar from fruit is easily digestable (banana) and provides an easier insulin spike than ordinary sugar. I also have [protein in conjuction for fast absorbtion after then eat a high protein meal with a Vitamin C tablet
