you
Mine are too while shedding some fat. So you use simple sugar carbs PWO. I wonder if the body effeciantly burns those carbs instead of storing them as fat.

You do not have to worry about simple carbs PWO making you fat.

Unless your taking in 100gr+.

PWO meal #1 is shake with dextrose (take with ALA) which immediatley replenishes glycogen in muscles.
PWO meal #2 is real food ex: chicken breasts and oatmeal/white rice

either pwo shake 44 grams of whey in gatorade, or chicken breasts and gulp a gatorade...i really dont buy into the whole overuse of whey protein thing

i eat a lobster tail and a small whit potato. also slam a sugarless red bull down.

does anyone do the ridiculous 100g whey 100g dextrose shake after workout? this seems completely unnecessary and waste...eat real food people!!

2 shakes/day max IMHO. Granted each shake usually has 50-60g of protien each, but I hear about ppl drinking like 4 shakes a day.

Last night after my chest workout I had shake that consisted of 24oz of 1% milk and 2 scoops of protien @ 23g per scoop. So I guess that was 70g at once.

70g at once is fine, i just try not to get all my protein in that 70g from whey

i do a shake right away and about 2 hours later have dinner 2 chx breast,a piece of beef or tuna what ever i feel like.only one of the 3 tho not them all ;)

Milk, whey and egg protein shakes all have a superior amino acid profile as compared to meat. Save your meat intake for other times of the day and have your highest quality proteins prior to/during training and immediately after. All meat proteins have a PCDAAS of .8-.92 while all eggs and dairy protein sources have a perfect PCDAAS of 1.00 and an amino acid score much higher than meat. The amino acid score is the amount of essential aminos present Vs. those required, teh PCDAAS stops at those required.

I usually have 75g whey isolate and a bowl of mixed fruit immediately post workout and a meal of chicken breast/milk isolate and vegetables an hour later.

-15 min. prior to completion of workout, 500mg R-ALA.
-Immediate PWO, 60-70g dextrose carbs.
-15 min. later, 60-70g 100% Whey Protien.
-1.5 hr later, another 60-70g 100% Whey.
-1.5 hr later, final PWO shake, 100% Whey w/60-70g carbs.

I do this to try to get in as much nutrients as possible in the 3hr PWO window. It seems to work well as recovery and gains are very positive.

right after is 45g of whey
1 hr after shake is 2 chicken breasts

cutting right now and the fat is melting off

I've done it all................found ZERO difference in consuming a shake vs. food........I've be sticking to egg whites, cc, and maybe a little skim..........easy to digest............

Do the same rules still apply when dieting to single digit bodyfat(6-8%)? Which option is better after weight training? 1.) Dextrose/Whey? 2.) Brown Rice or Oatmeal/Whey? 3.) Brown Rice or Oatmeal/Chicken Breast?

But...the tire around your waist remains. Please tell us if it is a Uniroyal, Firestone, or Michelin.

:p

Eggs and dairy have the best amino acid profiles so I would definitely stick to them if you want to go with "whole foods" post workout. Meat is inferior, with a PCDAAS of .8-.92, meaning it has sub-optimal levels of the essential amino acids per 100g of protein. It's not that big of a difference considering the amount of protein consumed by BB's over the course of the day. However, post-workout I want all of the essential amino's present in optimal amounts, which is why I use a shake.

You're an idiot....I'm around 7%bf right now..........almost completely diced......lol........tire around my waist....wutt?!?!?!?

i HAVE TO AGREE: I've done both shakes and food post workout and feel/look no difference between the two.
Marketing hype by the supps companies.

F-A-R from idiot sir.

My comment results from the assumption that your avatar = YOU.

If so , you are LYING about being at 7%. Simple as that.

Even MORE unhealthy to tell complete lies ;)

IF it is you, great job!

BTW, take time to stop and smell the roses. Take a joke once in a while...or even make one!

I made the silly comment to invoke laughter. If I can make one person laugh/day it makes my life that much better.

Nevertheless, allow me to explain the "silly" reply:

You seem to make alot of posts on dieting and how disciplined you are with your food intake. I applaud you for this strict self-discipline, it is required for true success not only in bodybuilding but ANYTHING one expects positive results from. BUT the avatar you sport looks like a typical "real" photo type avatar many use to show off their work. Nothing wrong with that at all, in fact I would encourage it. We all want a pat on the back for our hard work. Its just that the avatar doesnt exactly match the posts you make about your successful diet =)

Take it light man!

I have a shake ASAP as soon as I am done training. Its a glass of kool-aid with Dextrose used as the sweetener, 2 scoops of Whey Isolate added to it, 1 vit B-Complex, 1 Vit C 1000mg.

2 hrs later, I have something off the BBQ (seafood, chicken, fish, beef etc..), and some brownrice and blackbean mix, with a glass of water. 2 hrs later, I have a glass of lactose free low fat milk with 1 scoop of whey concentrate in it right before bed.

LMFAO!! There are even better pics of priest when he is bulking. Someone posted one here on elite not to long ago, he was wearing the classes, and the post was .. "do you think that this guy has what it takes to be a pro?". Everyone was like ... no way bro ... When they found out it was Priest in the "off season", there were a few peeps choking on their words.

wow....so lee priest is on elitefitness now.....damn

how the hell can you not know who the picture is of...
did you just crawl outta someone's asshole

What do you guys have for post workout meal or do you just drink a protein shake?

8 oz grape juice within 20mins of workout to replenish glycogen stores. 45min hour later, 150g chicken breast, 40g peanuts, 1 tablespoon of flaxseed oil, large bowl of spinach salad with vinegarette and 55g of whey protein with 200z of water....Then sleep!!!!!

Basically you never want to just intake protein after a workout. You want a simple carb perferably grape or orange juice to quickly replenish glycogen stores and then eat a good amount of protein and fats....If you don't then most of the protein will be burned for energy and basically wasted....Also you may find yourself feeling a low over time.

Just because someone posts an avatar of Lee, doesn't mean it's Lee. Though I may resemble my avatar a bit, it's not me  :anon:

Post workout is usually whatever is on sale at Burger King. 2 king supremes, 2 original chicken sandwiches, or 2 bacon doubles...

Yup and it doens't seem to be making me fat at all either. Fast food isn't really that bad if you stay away from the completely empty cals. such as fries and pop.

Thnx bro.....got your back too.....however, I didnt think he was referring to me as the cyber thug, but maybe I am wrong....if so, what the hell did I do? I NEVER ONCE said I was Lee or Lee was me or it was me in my avat.....cmon....this is ridiculous..........

Maybe he's referring to me as the "cyber-thug" since I called Aquest to the carpet, but that wouldn't have had anything to do with him. Aquest is the only one on this thread so far who tried starting any shit so I really don't know why anyone would start throwing around terms like cyber-thug. This started as a good thread on PWO meals and it's turning into a spitting match. I say lets keep the posts going in the direction they were intended. If someone wants to start trashing someone else just to get a rise out of them, go somewhere else!

I don't think anyone was implying you were afraid, merely that you're a fool for not knowing that JKurz does not = Lee Priest.

Im a cyber thug. I bench 6 plates for 12 reps. How you like me now biatch.

bastard, thats right he did. Time for me to demonstrate the cock pushup.
