Post workout drink

I have read numerous times that a 50/50 mix of dextrose and maltodextrin was better than either one alone. I have just started adding BCAA to my post workout mix for better recuperation even though i know whey protein contains BCAA's. The added BCAA's act like hydrolized whey in that they are absorbed quickly. There is a good post workout mix article on Avantlabs.com sight in their big motherf**cker online magazine.

immediate Post workout: Glucose (50gr), Whey hydrolysate (25-50gr), 10gr Glutamine, 10gr Creatine, BCAA's.

~2hrs later: Maltodextrin (50-100gr), Casein/Egg/long acting protein (30-50gr), 2-300 mg R-ALA.

This way you get fast acting carbs/protein right after w/o, then some longer acting carbs/protein an hour or two after. Been working awesome for me. you def want to hit your body twice in the 2-3 hours immediately after your workout.....as well for the few hours after that, since that is when you will benefit most from all that protein and carbs.

Is ProALA by Prolab the same as R-ALA?

R-ALA isn't available by any of the big name companies, or most of the smaller companies for that matter. i know you can get it at anabolicfitness.com. But you can use regular ALA, like by prolab.......but you'd have to triple the R-ALA dosage. for instance, i am using about 1000mg or R-ALA, so if i used ALA i would need to be getting around 3 grams to match the R-ALA dosage. If you get it cheap enough, just use more of the ALA. But the R-ALA is pretty cheap if you factor in the lower dosage.

i go with malto / dextros and then whey

after about an hour or so i eat as much protein as i can (keeping fats low and some carbs)
