Post workout carbs and HIIT cardio

Hey guys,

Question: I do HIIT cardio 3 times a week on days when I don't lift. After this cardio, should I have fast acting carbs in addition to my protein, or just the protein?

If I should have fast-acting carbs, will anything high-glycemic enough to spike my insulin be sufficient?

If you are am athlete consistently depleting glycogen through interval cardio, then you would want to replenish glycogen.

If you are not an athlete, using the interval cardio for fat loss, then there is no immediate need to replenish glycogen. Depending on duration, you might not be depleting that much glycogen any how.

I would need to know exactly what your protocol is. And what your diet is like for the rest of the day.
