post up what you do for Cardio

I have been going nutty on cardio lately. My latest routine is 3 miles 4 times a week and then 5 miles one day a week.

Always with at least a 2 min sprint at the end of the run. May run a half marathon in Oct.

I use that damn elliptical to keep my ass up where it is supposed to be ;)
elliptical seems to be a bit easier than the tread so i dont do it. Just tread mill or run outside. Its getting cold here in Seattle in the am so not so much this week. I may start doing 20 min in the am then my big run in the pm after my workout.

Skipping rope with a speedrope is a lot of fun.

I find that low intensity cardio worked really well for me, still works well for me, helps burn a minimal amount of muscle.

walking fast, just to the point before you're jogging, I used to do that for about 45 minutes to an hour or longer at a time.

I have a jacked up back and knees so pounding on the treadmill is not good fo me.

Hmm that is new to me. Untill I'm in the 8-10 % body fat range or at least can see my abs, I think I need high intensity. I'm not worried about being huge. Just want to be porpotinal and symetrical. But no more gut mostly.

gotcha. working out has done wonders for my back problems, but I can see where your coming from.

During the summer, I was going for about 1.4 mile brisk walks with a 40 pound weighted vest 5-6 times a week. It would probably be considered more GPP (or AR after squat days) than cardio, but I'm more concerned with recovery, cardio health and GPP than cardio as it's taken in the bodybuilding sense of a sole means to and end for fat loss.

I'd like to get a heavier vest that can go to 80-100 pounds when I have a spare $350. I find that this is a great exercise for me and can be extended to hikes around the woods near the bluffs here, which I've enjoyed for years.

I've really grown to love the running again. I used to run as a kid (played soccer since birth so kinda had to ) I was surprised that I can beat the US marine corps pt test for 3 miles with ease. I'm in better shape then I thought.

I started noticing that nobody stays at the running in the gym like I do and started thinking, wow I must be doing something well.

I got a buddie here in Seattle that trains with me who can do as much cardio as I can. He has ran in marathons too. We push each other a bit. I just don't want to over do it.

It is a cool feeling getting that runners high after about 30 min.

I've mostly stopped losing weight due and actually gained some back. About 5 lbs, but not fat. mostly mass. I've actually gotten leaner since upping my cardio.

I played soccer for nine years up to highschool. I loved it. I probably suck at running nowadays, but I never really try. What weight do you usually stay at (natural)? I'd be afraid of losing too much weight if I ran a couple miles several times a week, or at least hinder my weight gains and lifts. I've trained for years using Westside and Militia techniques, so I probably have very different goals than most people.

I am naturally about 194 at 6' 1" I am about 2 lbs under that right now. I am a bit undersized on my upper body So I'd say my perfect weight would be about 197lbs if I cut the last amount of fat off my belly and bulked up top.

I loved soccer so much. Not sure if my cardio affects my mass building up top, but I havent noticed it being a problem yet. I think i've made some significant gains, but havent been upping the weights in my training for upper body. I am just starting that now. I was afraid of hurting myself and have actually had some tweaks of my elbow with heavy weight lifting. My plan is to get serious about both this fall and winter and maybe bulk a bit after dec. to see where I can get by summer

My lower body has always overpowered my upper body. I tend to think that it came from doing so many running sports when I was young. I never played football or anything with upper body until I started lifting when I was 16 or so, so that's always been my weak area. I have a lot of potential in my squat and dead, so I shy away from running in exchange for stuff that places additional load on my body. I don't know if this is the absolute best way to do things, but I never hear of Tate, Simmons or any other big name in powerlifting advocating running. I'm sure running would be much healthier in general, though.

No question it is an awesome feeling. 2-5 miles after only three weeks is pretty amazing. You must have been in shape already. I see lean meat heads get on the mill at golds and cant even do 5 min.

Hiking's great, especially when you need to break out the rope or knife to get up a steep incline or bluff. They've been slowly turning my old hiking grounds into a "park" over the past few years, and I'm rather annoyed at this. I hate following man-made paths and seeing signs of civilization when I'm in the woods.

I am lazy.

I do 20 minutes on a recline bike programed on a strength curve at the start of each wo day.
I read TIME and a current book at the same time (Harry Potter fini).

I got a stationary bike back in '03 or so. Although I still use it for a warm-up and sometimes as cardio when the weather is bad, I have never found it to be very effective at anything. Even 45 minutes on one several times a week for a few weeks doesn't feel very beneficial with respect to cardio or GPP, but using a weighted vest was phenomenal. I don't know if it's just me, or if the bike itself makes a difference (it was a cheaper, ~$300-400 model from an exercise equipment store).

i mostly just hike around my property. now that it's cooler, its a lot nicer because i HATE sweating in the sun and getting bitten by mosquitos.

Eliptical, jogging are the main things. I'm gonna have to take a couple weeks off of running. My achilles tendon is very sore.

It is easier, You have to really push. Just count your heart rate per minute to gauge the intensity. I meant breaths per minute. That is more accurate.

I do spin classes and jump rope.
6 days a week on a good week.
4 days a week on an oh-shit-I'm-so-behind-I'm-living-at-the-library-week.
I ride a real bike and take dance classes when I can, but I don't count that as cardio.
I used to be all about the elliptical but now it bores me to tears.

I do cardio mon, wed, fri. First thing in the morning after waking up, I drink a couple glasses of water and go straight to the gym for cardio. I do 30-35 min balls out on the elliptical, then 20 min on the bike.

for some reason i got good wind.
you'd think otherwise with all the weed i smoke...the second time i went out i ran 5.5 miles with little difficulty. mile times aprox 15 minutes a piece.
i figured lifting weights and hiking must contribute some how

Hiking in the mountains on weekends... at least until the snow starts coming down. You figure out real quick what kind of condition you are in at 12,000+ feet.

elliptical machine, rowing machine, bike, heavy bag. . .that's pretty much it. . .bad knees, yo.

sometimes i'll go 3 minutes on the bike, 3 minutes on the rowing machine, 3 minutes on the bag for like 3 sets (27 minutes). . .by the last set on the bag i'm friggin' jello. . .
