He was featured on"Tales of the Gun" and "Heroes Under Fire" on the history channel; OSU had the #1 MH program at the time I was there.

I hear their ROTC is really elite there too. Ohio State was the first to implement the program right? I think it was called SATC or something like that originally...

lol...when I was there we were lucky enough to have prior service rangers running the Ranger Challenge program. I was fortunate enough to be one of the underclassmen to make the team. It got me an airborne and air assault slot as a freshman...unheard of...

I'm 35........a very long time ago...I gave up that one after I got denied a scholarship. I always maxed my pt...expert marksman..I was enlisted and was an honor grad from every school....including PLDC. The Sgt Major pulled me aside and told me I didn't get it because the battalion XO wanted out and he gave the scholarship to the son of a NG general's son. He was a fellow cannon cocker and wanted me to continue but I was too disillusioned.

Sucks to hear bro. I lost a scholarship too...it was less political than your case. I could definitely see why you'd be pissed/disillusioned after that. I had an injury & played through but it was just so competitive I just got ousted more or less. Ended up switching schools and getting more injuries LOL..now I'm fat haha. Still thinking about coming back one last yr just to prove it to myself, but a bad shoulder + rugby's probably not the best combination.

It's the luck of the draw mang.....had the old man been sitting at the head of the board as opposed to the XO I would probably be in Iraq or Afghanistan right now...Everything works out......

Yeah for real. I ended up going to a much smaller school, but I REALLY like the way they teach opposed to being taught everything by T.A's and via a giant screen. The smaller school allows me to really actively learn, and dissect material more. I Don't think I'd be content sitting through lectures anymore.
