Here's the catch, I want everyone to say how lifting has positively influenced their lives :) :geigh I know but let's make this a happy thread!!!:

OK I'll go first: It's always been a way for me to take stock in my own level of determination. If I'm capable of growing by lifting hard & smart, eating right and learning more and more each day, then I'm capable of succeeding in anything else outside the gym. And it has shown. Life is good

wow, there are so many different ways in which lifting has affected my life I don't know where to start, but here's some of them:

- Building character: The first time I walked into the gym I was a scrawny guy with no self-worth or self image, now I'm borderline "narcissistic."

- Motivation: in and out of the gym, if you put your mind to something and you work hard, you'll be able to achieve it

- Better quality of life: Good health, good body, good mind, good soul

- Determination: you push you self to excel despite what others may believe, and you achieve what others see as "impossible"

- Anger management: a means to let out your anger and free yourself from anxiety

There's a lot more, but those are the ones I could think of right now!

LMFAOOOOOO Oooooo @ the last 2 replies llollol i fuckin hate you both

Lifting not only helps me feel better physically but challenges me mentally. It causes me to push through barriers and grow in every area of life. I feel a sense of accomplishment even when the day hasn't been that great. I seem to have a leveled out mood and a better outlook on life.

The one thing that has most been impacted as a result of traing is my appreciation of mirrors!!! LOL J/K No I'm Not!!!

Oh my gosh. You're never gonna let that go are you? lol. that's awesome.

Bodybuilding has given me a reason to be self-confident. I was always a skinny lurpy guy in HS, and never felt I was attractive. After lifting and looking in the mirror all pumped up I feel like a total stud. I feel motivated for life and have confidence around the ladies. I just love girl grabbing my arm and realizing they are big. "Oh-My-Gosh" is what they say everytime. I just laugh because all the girls I know always knew me as a skinny guy.

Bodybuilding for me has also been a good metaphor for goal setting, and actually acheiving thos goals.

I started at 170. I wanted to be 185. then 195, then 205, and I'm now 215 and I want to be 230, then Ill want to be 250 I'm sure. Seeing my goals being achieved is a real motivator and tells me I can do it if I put in the work.

More juice please!

Your right this is pretty gay....swole get your estrogen in check brotha....Lifting is just a way to let out steam after work and make me feel good about myself. Crank the ipod and get in the zone (chief). It also make me feel good to look better than most and for me it shows i have dedication to something...i dont know maybe im just an attention whore.

Lifting for me has alway's been a stress reliever. It's always been that one hour a day when I can forget about everything else in my life and just work hard reap the benefits of a healthy lifestyle. It's also helped me get more ass than a toilet seat. Lift for life, I'll never quit till they pry the steel from my cold dead hand.

i agree^^^ :chomp:

keeps me in the right frame of mind. i have to deal with a lot of people every day and it can get very nerve racking and the stress gets taken out on the iron and not the clients!

Stress relief and body image mostly for me.
I was always the chubby kid growing up and once I got to college I decided to see if I could change that. After 13 years of working out I can't imagine doing something different with my mornings.

The quote I heard a long time ago about gymrats worshiping at the Iron Church applys to me.

I enjoy the rush, the feeling of power. The world stands still when I am in the gym, just me and the iron in an eternal cosmic struggle

Well for me it`s all been about the possitive aspects it bring physically, mentally and emotionally.

After a while of dedicated training in all that it inteails wall should agree that we look and feel good, when we feel and look good we are confident, when we are confident we perform well, when we perform well all of our relationships and undertakings are very positively affected which inturn result in a strong health in MIND BODY and SOUL.....need we say more.
