Post-lifting cardio?

Recently I've been adding my cardio right after a vigorous hour or so of lifting. Due to soreness however I stop after about 20 minutes. Also I'm somewhat concerned that I'm ruining my opportunity to feed my muscles with a PWO meal right after the weights. Is this cause for concern?

So my question, would having a PWO shake right after the lifting AND 45 minutes of cardio be the same as just having the shake after lifting?

I usually tell girls that ask me for helping them lose weight (I'm somewhat of a PT at my school) to do this. I figure that they aren't going to go home and get anything to eat for a while anyway, so what is the harm? Also, I only recomend 10-20 minutes tops because I feel that it is almost the same as doing cardio in the morning on an empty stomach, so the cardio is much more effective. I also try to narrow down their heartrate to about 60-70% of maxhr

I would reccomend 10 mins of cardio either side of a workout as a warm-up and down, but no doing any cardio right with the weights. Do the cardio as a second workout on the same day, or as some to do on a day without weights.

You might have a valid point neo, but as it stands your answer means nothing.

Lol, nice.

I particularly wouldn't want to do it pre-workout, simply because you want as much energy as possible to lift at full intensity. As far as it being a warmup - well, that's what warmup sets are for.

If you're looking for optimal fat-burning, do it first thing in the morning @ moderate intensty for 45 minutes. Then lift in the afternoon-night.
