Post-lifting cardio?

Redshoteye

Recently I've been adding my cardio right after a vigorous hour or so of lifting. Due to soreness however I stop after about 20 minutes. Also I'm somewhat concerned that I'm ruining my opportunity to feed my muscles with a PWO meal right after the weights. Is this cause for concern?

So my question, would having a PWO shake right after the lifting AND 45 minutes of cardio be the same as just having the shake after lifting?

I was wondering the same thing. I lift for about 45 min to an hour. After lifting weights I play racket Ball for at least 45 Minutes. Am I doing wrong??

based on expereince post workout cardio is not that great

its far better to do it on a seperate day in the morning on an empty stomach

I do an hour of cardio in the AM then after lifting in the PM do another 45 minutes. I have my PWO shake before the cardio I need to as it is what get my thru it.

this makes the cardio a waste of time. really might want to research this more, that pwo is hurting your progress.

If your losing bodyfat AND pounds you may be losing some muscle as well... thats my concern with this.

Are you natty? If so then this may not be the best thing for you. If your on cycle a very small amount of muscle is lost it is impossible to cut and lose no muscle at all.

you are doing the wrong thing. i'll quote Swole Cat from Anabolic Review:

Eating first before ANY kind of cardio is the most assinine thing to do. You may "think" you are losing fat weekly, in reality, you are burning off the calories you just ate, you are doing NOTHING for stored bodyfat, and you are merely burning up calories that can be used for bodily repair. Talk about CATABOLISM! If anything, that sets the stage better! Don't be surprised in weeks to come when you realize your weight loss was primarily of the lean mass variety.

like i said, look into the cardio your doing. lipolysis is IMMEDIATELY stopped when insulin is present. this occurs with a pwo shake.

Natty yes. I'd assume a light cycle of var would help but I'm not ready to pop my cherry quite yet.

Question... is eating, lets say, a cup of white rice an hour before cardio considered "assanine," or do you mean RIGHT before.

I don't have the option of AM cardio so I'm looking for the next best thing.

Not a fan of Post-Workout cardio. Catabolic if you ask me. Maybe 10min to warm down, but not more than that. I keep at least a 4 hour time difference and 2 solid meals in between the two, no matter which order I do them in.

good suggestion, avoid carbs at least 3 to 4 hours before cardio

And protein?

I "Lift" on an empty stomach and then do cardio. I never know if I will have to work over-time at the hospital. So I just try to get them both out of the way at once.
