no I was on morphine before and after the surgery.. never got oxy's, I think just Loratabs.. I don't really remember

Getting prescription drugs wouldn't be a problem for me. My fiances dad is a doctor and I work for a psychiatrist.

You work for for a Psychiatrist? Do you know much about SSRI's? My doctor says I should take Zoloft for my anxiety but i'm affraid that I will have to become dependant on them the rest of my life. I'm not depressed or anything but I have a hard time sleeping due to racing thoughts in my head. Would taking SSRI's have any effect/sides with the use of AAS or any PCT (AI's)?

I have to go see him in a few days for a follow up and make my decision on sleeping meds or SSRI's as medical options. I'm just concerned of it changing my perspective and my mental state.

I'm not a Doctor yet so don't take my word to heart especially since I don't know your current state. As for brand wise, whether Zoloft is good or Paxil or whatever, it doesn't matter the brand.. THere is no research done to show any antidepressant is better than the rest. If the only problem you are having is sleeping I would STRONGLY NOT recommend sleeping pills. They are highly addictive (even the ones that say "non habit forming"). If you have having problems sleeping you need healthly sleep NOT drug induced sleep. Look at it this way, you sleep like crap now and you start popping pills and you sleep like a baby, why would you go back to not taking them? (I have experience in this, not just a professional view, I was addicted to Ambien during my back stage). As for the AAS and PCT, I don't think serotonin has anything to do with test/ estrogen levels so you should be okay. I had the same problem as you are describing. I just couldn't sleep b/c of so much on my mind. I never went the Zoloft route but I did use Lexapro. It is specially made to treat anxiety and once I kicked ambien I got on this stuff and once I started sleeping better I just up and stop taking it and I sleep fine now

I've never heard of anyone addicted to Zoloft but I've heard of thousands of people being addicted to sleeping pills.. Although Zoloft or these other meds do have withdrawl symptoms.. basically if you quit them cold turkey you may relapse back to the state you were in, to get past them just simply ween yourself off them, slowly lowering the dosages. Definately not something you would have to take your whole life.. Learn the cause of your stress and cope with it. It will do wonders

Thanx, I'm afraid of using sleeping pills more than an Anti-Depressant, simply because of what you said (habit forming). I think he actually mentioned something about Lexapro, i'll have to ask him about that.

You have good health insurance?

If not, I know I didn't until I got this job, ask for sample packets. Lexapro is a hugely pushed drug through prescription reps. They come in week long samples (Anti Depressants usually take 2 weeks to a month before you notice a difference). Tell him you are skeptical and you want to try them, he should give you 3 or 4 weeks of it. The stuffs not cheap if you have to fill a prescription.

I have the worst sleeping patterns ever. I wake up at around 2pm. go to my classes until 6pm. Go workout from 6:30-8 then I bartend from 9pm until 2:30am almost every other night. I usually don't fall asleep until 6-7am. So I barely ever see daylight and it really has messed me up in the last year. The only way I can really let my mind relax is when I smoke bud, but I have to give that up in a few months due to Law school. This is basically why i've been talking to my doc. about takking meds. that might be able to help my situation.

Yeah I got health insurance through my school so I should be okay on that. But how much is the deductable on SSRI meds?
