war is a tough deal to do perfect
IMO we won too quickly and instead of killing most of saddam's henchmen they surrendered or deserted only to return as insurgents etc.
but it's a lot better than if saddam had done the right thing and pooled all his military assets into Baghdad and created a cityfight

It's amazing that repubs point to Kerry's gaff and make it out like it simply erases all the crimes, arrests, downfalls and boo-boos they have accumulated.

No matter what else happens... as long as all 3 (senate house admin) are not controlled by the same people (dem or rep) I'm cool with it. And since I want this (gop) admin out in two years... Im hoping the dems can only gain control of one or other this week and not both.

That's an interesting comment.

I forget the source, but someone did some polling recently around the idea of split governement and an incredibly large percentage of Americans were in favor of it (something like 75%+).

There were a few follow-up questions and it really boiled-down to the notion that they didn't want either party doing much of anything.

People will take this as yet another nasty conservative slam, but I think that's part of the magic of Bill Clinton. He didn't really do that much, had gridlock in Congress, and people genuinely liked him.

I think GOP retains the senate,the dems can have the house
it's 2 years from now when it gets serious
and the dems are hard at work getting ready to fuck that up running hillary

Its called having a check and balance system.

There were a few follow-up questions and it really boiled-down to the notion that they didn't want either party doing much of anything. Could not be farther from the truth. You cant pass bullshit just because "you are in control" and Abramoff sends you a check.. But you can get things passed that are good for the country and agreed upon by both sides.
