sh4dowf4lcon how long have you been hangin with the guy in my avi?

I can't think of having a better mod then J, from what I've read it seems like you're taking this whole internet thing too seriously.

He's DONATED more to this board than 98% of the entire elitefitness community. When he left for a while people were begging him to come back... he's an asset, period.

J isn't a scammer, he's not fonz & regardless of what you think, no one else here feels that he needs a background check.

I couldnt agree more, J is a great asset to the board no doubt. Ive taught him much of what he knows, thats why im a little disappointed in you guys, no votes for themachine01 :D.

That is just my perspective, no diss on J; J does make good posts, no doubt.

That alone is not the most important part of being a mod, IMO. Trust, reputation, integrity, & a long proven track record for being honest should be considered first. Who am I? That is just my opinion, take it or leave it. I also post on other sites, maybe I have been exposed to more negative things than you?

For Example:
Try searching and see how many good posts fonz made before he was found to be a scamming, thieving liar (thousands). I am merely stating I feel more comfortable with trusted and respected bros who are actually known, that have been around for a while. What I said stands, I feel more comfortable with guys I actually know to be trustworthy. (wrongun, dialtone, bigAndy69)

another example: Einstein. Excellent posts, then add some misguided trust, and several bros out double digit G's. So it is my opinion, guys who have proven to be respectable and have a rep for being trustworthy the longest deserve promotion first. Its alright if you disagree.

Peace

well i do disagree.

i think you and i would both agree, that having the most knowledgable people around for mods would better the quality of the site behond having someone who has "10,000 post next to his name". i mean shit, half the fuckin c and c board have 10k + in posts. doesnt mean i trust them. as far as elite goes, im sure its about majority rules, and right now your out numbered about EVERYONE/2 or 3. but thanks for you opinion.

@ what point did I say how many posts matters? Again, I have more trust and respect for dialtone, mavy, wrongun, BigAndy69, just for their longevity and they have been contributing longer. I think seniority should be a factor. I never said J shouldn't be mod, I simply think there are people who have been here longer who deserve the nod first.

I like the old school bros first. Time tells alot about a person. One more thing, shortstack, you mentioned post count two or three times, but I have not referenced it once? I dont care about PC. :chomp: You also referenced me as an idiot for stating my opinion.

Agree or not, I have every right to speak up for those who have been here longer. Some of these guys have helped rid EF of scammers and thieves, all of these guys know how to handle source questions and issues, and they are active on other boards, so they know about things a person who just hangs at EF might not know about.

Regarding Fonz and Einstein,do you realize how many good posts and articles they posted before they went bad? I am not saying J or anyone else would go bad, I am saying: due to the "nature of the game", you need to have more respect for the old school bros first. Longevity matters, and people who have been here 3 or 4 years deserve the nod prior to someone with one year or two years. That again is just the way I see it, that is how I think it should be.

I want to say I agree with the following quote by DCC, bring the people 7-10 names and let the people decide which to vote as AAS mods. Let the people have a voice, but let the staff finalize the nominations.

Why dont the current mods get together and create a poll in EACH board with the 10 best choices and have the board members vote. That way we can clearly see who is in the lead. Maybe only let Plats/Vets vote somehow...

I state my opinions in peace not in anger or hostility. :garza:

I already voted but since this thread is likely to be here for a while I will vote again.

I agree with the tenure thing. People who have been here the longest have probably, probably, helped the most people and should get first consideration.

Of all the people I see posted there is no question that Jenetic is going to add the most knowledge, and from his posts, write the most comprehensive answers. When he contributes he puts a lot of thought and research into his thread starters as well.

And I do like some of the short story length novels Mavy has written.

I also agree that since the CC board was installed that number of posts is a useless statistic. Like I care how many times someone posts "yeah he sucks" or "who got laid last night?" when I want to determine the credibility of a post that is going to decide my PCT plan.

100% back Jenetic. Genuinly cares about the information he shares w/the board and goes above and beyond to clarify and explain. Mavy also, even though he's a Canuck, j/k adds a LOT of benefit to the board. Both of these bros have helped me personally via the board and PMs in the past and appreciate their efforts

So tell me why is it again that the mods we pick have to be "trust worthy?". After all they shouldnt be doing anything illigal. Their here to moderate and help others out first and formost. In my honest opinion, and i think you would be dumb to disagree, I dont see ANYONE go to the troubles to help someone like jenetic does. Its this kinda bullshit that makes us loose valuble peeps on this board. Because you get hardheads like yourself that dont respect the people that make this site what it is. I mean jenetic already left for awhile, and Im sure 99% of us felt that and saw what a huge fucking mistake it was losing him once. There are quite a few other extremly awsome bro's that have left also, because of ignorant shit like this. And you keep saying "i said nothing about post count" "i said nothing about post count". Son, you reffering to a member being a "trusted" Longivity member basically reffers to "post count" in more ways than one. In life you're gonna get a few that turn into bad apples, but does those few (2) people mean your gonna go about choosing the next best thing, (for a potentially great site) because this person is so knowledgable and help more than any other, but he doesnt have longevity.... but at the end, it is your opinion, we just dont value it much at all.

I can't believe the propagation of this absurd.
You are forgetting that the candidate is not appointed by the Will Above. Preferences exerted by VOTE dictate the outcome. Being that preference in its most elementary form is a belief - feel free to adhere to yours and vote for whoever candidate you see fit to be trusted with duties (and regalia :) ).
So Is there any reason to stir this non-sense? No, voting abolishes this principle - it is whom the majority trusts to be competent and trustworthy. Simply vote and keep the rest to yourself :o
