please help! my gear may be ruined

Thanks for the response Spidey. You think my stuff is ok? The one thing that is bothering me is some of my side affects are diminishing. I usually get tingally hot flashes on test and the last two weeks they have been very minimal. I have never done QV before so I don't know if this is normal.

Thanks for the replies.

you can bake it @ 250 for 15 min and your gear will be fine with reduced pain

I think it's probably fine. Does it still look clear with no solids floating in it? I can't, of course, tell you for certain without looking at it myself but I think, chemically speaking, the heat will not hurt it.

Is it just more or does baking your AS seem a little on the old wives tale side of things?

I'd never put my AS in the oven....I don't care WHO told me to.

It is still clear and there are not any chunks in it. I do still have a fever the day afer I shoot, is this related to the test or the other chemicals? I guess I will keep shooting and see what happens in the next couple weeks.

For Guards, QV is suppost to have more alchohol in it than some other brands which causes more pain. Cooking it is suppost to evaporate the alchohol out. I know people that have had success with this but I don't know if I am as lucky as them.

Thanks
Dan

For the record, I am not telling anyone to bake their gear. This fellow asked a question and I answered it to the best of my knowledge; I don't think he destroyed his gear by baking it.

In my opinion, baking is not the best way to sterilize gear. Filtering through a 0.2 micron filter will remove all bacteria, even spores (baking will not kill spores). Some people are not trying to sterilize but rather they are trying to evaporate excess BA. Given the high boiling point of BA (over 400 F), I don't really think baking at 300 for 15 minutes with a little needle for an outlet is going to do much but I guess it is possible....
