Guys,

I need your help with a new feature we are working on. The feature will let you use abbreviations when you type, but the abbreviations will be expanded automatically when you post. For example, you type "dbol" in your post but your post will read dianabol. Or you type eq and your post reads equipoise.

Will you help me think of other good ones? Please post them in this format:

'dbol' => 'dianabol'
'eq' => 'equipoise'

I'll award 10,000 K to the member with the most quality suggestions - I know it says 1000, but I'm really awarding 10,000!

TNE=> Test ,no,ester.
Brad.

I was thinking the same thing, but I got distracted w/ the 10000 k points.

It does help distinguish to a certain extent how familiar you are to the realm of AAS.

Agree as well. so when I say I use "prop" it will say "testosterone propionate"? I don't want anyone knowing I use testosterone propionate.lol

We speak in code.

I vote that the aforementioned plan of expanding abbreviations be forgotten, because SMFs (stupid mother fuckers) and LazyMfs who want to know more about ASS will not do enough due dillegence to find out what the abbrs are. They are not the kind of people who need to be looking around here PMing for sources, not reading stickys, asking questions that have been gone over ad neauseum in other threads, etc.
I vote for LSOBA ( leaving the sum bitch alone ).

I'm thinking this feature will have some serious "funny as shit" potential when people make typos ...

George I have bin on a lot of sites around the net and one feature I have seen on some sites that I just love is this.

some sites have it set up were if a member types the word "hcg" it becomes a link to a description of hcg it dose it for almost every type of aas or ai as well as that boards sponsors products.... its great and it would really help new comers big time....

makeing the site more newb friendly is a dame good idea.helping guys get the info faster will save most of us from having to say it over and over again any way.the site that can give the newbs the info they want the fastest is the one there going to come back to and tell there friends about.99% of the ??? asked around here I can find in a google search that takes 2 secs but people dont even want to do that any more.just give the people what they want I say.

Why not have a reference lookup facility for abbreviations like a spell check or thesaurus. This way you can enter the abbreviation - look up the meaning and link to a profile i.e. short text version of explanation. It also means the user could bespoke to their preferences.

You could allow users to add to the database and sure people such as Ant Roberts could assist with some of the profiles etc for the links

I like this one.
I would of loved to have something like this when a was a noob.
That would cut down on questions like "what is eod or what does PCT stand for?"

I agree half my time was spent working out what the abbreviations were before understanding what the posts were all about.

I think it would help more users get involved in discussion earlier and not be so intimidated to post and recieve the ''do a search reply'' etc etc

Some of these dont really need to expand when you enter them in but Mr. X covered just about everything.

Actually I agree with the idea of providing a link for the mentioned abbreviations. That way not only do they know what the word means, it has a brief spiel on what it does, side effects, ect. Would save a lot of 'can I drink winny???'

It' almost like a foreign lang. when you first come here.
I would read a post and then have to look up what half the abbrevitions and acronyms meant just so I could decipher the post.
Very time consuming.
This would help tremondously w/ that.

Would there be an option to turn this off?

I don't type Dbol out of a laziness but due to prefering to have Dbol over Dianabol in my post. Similarly, I prefer Eq to Equipoise.

I second that.

You also need to be careful doing automated expansions.

Someone above suggested prop should be expanded to Testosterone Propionate. That'd look very silly and cause confusion when someone starts to talk about using bold prop. Similarly, if using tren enth it'd be bad to expand it to Trenbolone Testosterone Enanthate.

Just a caution.

Guys,

I need your help with a new feature we are working on. The feature will let you use abbreviations when you type, but the abbreviations will be expanded automatically when you post. For example, you type "Dianabol - methandrostenolone - " in your post but your post will read dianabol. Or you type Equipoise - boldenone undecylenate - and your post reads equipoise.

Will you help me think of other good ones? Please post them in this format:

'Dianabol - methandrostenolone - ' => 'dianabol'
'Equipoise - boldenone undecylenate - ' => 'equipoise'

No more automated stuff please!!

Anybody with me here?

That won't happen, because the purpose is to increase search engine hits when people are looking for specific chemicals.

I have to suggest that it doesn't work. I just did a Google search for dianabol and EF is nowhere to be found. Stanozolol neither. Do you think that maybe Google is wise to these tactics?

There was some discussion over on the law board about how Google indexes their threads within 3 hours.

How exactly does this kind of thing work? The limit of this exploit is known as 'google bombing', isn't it?
