Please help me decide what to do about Dunk.

Imagine that this was your business. At any one time, we can have over 2000 unregistered guests here. If you come here as a guest and see 14 threads where members are asking for a refund because they think the site is "geigh" - then how likely are you to want to register and stick around to enjoy the fun here?

I understand that Dunk is Italian. He should listen to the words of wisdom from the pimp Guido in Risky Business - "Don't ever fuck with another man's livelihood."

This is the second time Dunk got so upset about this place that he asked for some kind of a prorated refund. Not the first time, but the second time. Platinum Memberships are NOT refundable. But, if Dunk is unhappy here, I will make another exception and help him out. But, I need him out of my hair because I cannot afford the time it takes dealing with RIP threads and prorating refunds for him a third time. The only thing "Geigh" that I see going on is Dunk's starting threads about how much this place sucks, asking for a refund, getting his request honored, and then not leaving.

If you are Platinum, and you are unhappy, we want you to email us or call us right away, because we want to hear about it and make things right. Or, if you are Platinum and you are unhappy about something, although not as effective as sending us an email, post something specific like - "I am unhappy because I am having trouble uploading my avatar." Then we can help you. But if you just want to start trouble, find another way to do it that is not destructive to your own community.

When Rick spoke with Dunk on the phone, my understanding is that Dunk could not come up with one specific thing that bothered him. When I personally had a chat with SoreArms, he could not come up with anything more than he thought Rick was not being gentle enough with him.

So, right now, I am thinking about what should be done with Dunk (and SoreArms), but I need your help. Because as you know, I always take member suggestions very seriously. Here are a few things I am considering:

1. Continue to honor his wish that he not spend any more time on a "Geigh" site.

2. Auction off his Karma to pay for the prorated refund we gave him.

3. Wager all of his Karma on an event in the Bookie forum.

4. Donate all his Karma to AAP for the "Geigh" remark.

5. Letting him back and putting him on a Month to Month membership and have him gift his Lifetime Platinum Membership to someone of his choice.

6. Give all of his Karma to swole as payment of swole's attorney fees.

7. Give all of his Karma to Rick and the Mods for having to deal with all this.

8. Put all Dunk's Karma in a trust fund to be administered by AAP so that AAP can give all Dunk's Karma to our gay members.

9. Divide all Dunk's Karma among all the female members that he insulted over the years.

10. Selling all of Dunk's posts to the highest bidder and donating the proceeds to the Feed the Children foundation in Dunk's name.

11. Keeping Dunk's account active, but give the password to coldblue1955 so that coldblue1955 can be the new kinder, gentler Dunk.

12. Put all of Dunk's Karma back in the Karma Bank and donate the value of that Karma (at today's Karma store prices) to the Feed the Children foundation (in Dunk's name) so that something good can come out of this fiasco.

13. Create a Karma Awarded Thread with all of his Karma and ask the Mods to come up with the contest and then select the winner.

All options are on the table. I want to hear from you. Please be as creative as possible.
 
becauseI feel bad for blasting EF prematurely the other day,

this htread gets a B+ George.

Dunk's karma should be given to me. As the newest moderaotr around here, I will need higher karma to garner the respect that coems with such position.

Oh, I completely understand. People can't do whatever the hell they want. Its your business, do what you think is best. That said, bring him back as a non-plat and fix it where he can no longer purchase a plat membership.

Your site,Your choice....don't give his karma to Swole....give it to SwoleNole....but seriously...It doesn't make a Rat's Ass what we think...do what you think is best for the site..
 
Give the Karma to me. I've read a few of Swole's posts and I think I have a better understanding of how I would like to think that Dunk would have liked his Karma used.

Regarding Dunk and SoreArms, they're a part of our current community and a tear would be shed for them periodically were they to be banned. EF being what it is and churn being what it is, in a few months there'll be but a couple of handfuls of us who still give a damn.

However, they do add to the colour of the place and losing those guys would be a loss to the current quality of C&C. I would be sad to see another two high-profile guys bite the dust for an evening off the rails.

Equally, "don't fuck with the man". You run this site with a gentle hand, as evidenced by the existance of this thread, and I trust your judgement here. I guess you've already asked them whether they'd like to be allowed to remain here. I'd like that you give them clemency should they wish it.

If he has articulated his wish for a refund of his lifetime plat status, Pro-rate his refund at a monthly rate. In regards to the posting habits, place him on double-secret probation, a la Dean Wermer. SInce you have had problems like this in the past, make a stipulation that he must remain platinum month-to-month to remain here, and lay off the EF bashing posts.

I think you should make Dunk and Sorearms spend a weekend with Lestat and Sawastea. If that isn't punishment enough, create a new forum and restrict Dunk and Sorearms to it along with Bikinimom. That'll teach 'em.

Let him back in, let him keep his karma too. Dont give it to nobody else, its his - he earned it or/and purchased some of it.

SoreArms, he is usually nice, let this be a lesson for him and the rest of EF what happens when you are being disrespectfull. Let him come back.

I had had nothing but aggrivation from Dunk since day 1 of being here.Other members feel free to argue with me about his,I dont really care.
Any how, I think that Dunk should re main gone if not be non plat.He has done nothing around here but complain about how much it sucks, how much your admins suck, and be a prick to paying plat members.So he went life plat big deal I am a month to month plat, hints being I pay to be here as well.
He does nothing but reply to most of all my posts with some stupid comment.Brings in factors of stupidity by saying that even my kids hate me and stupid shit like that.Says he will get me banned and how he was speaking to 3 mods and i would be banned.Sure he thinks he is funny, But as a paying member here I dont think that he is funny.It got to the point where I had to speak to mods and admins. I am on this site daily and paid almost every month since i joined to be here. I do not need some one saying these things constantly.It's sick and annoying how he follows me and reds me.Makes it so that I was thinking of being non plat and same for my husband because that is the way Dunk was treating me (as a non plat). I chose to keep my plat status though because it is not your fault some people are a-holes around here.
Like i stated in the other thread i think that he should either stay banned permanantly or come back as a non plat only, with the understanding that he chooses to be here and by doing so he should respect you,admin, and other members (including non plats).
I think that you should give me some of his karma as I am the one who has had to deal with him.

Sorearms, I have no idea what he said to whom, but he occasionally gets on drunken tirades as I do. The coventry or a temp ban should work to cool his heels but he should also be allowed to remain. BRR should let Sorearms know that personal attacks will not be tolerated, and make it a final warning.

true. It takes 2 to fight. He used to do the same to me too, but I didnt act like Angel, so eventually, he was apologizing for being an asshole to me. Now we are friends.




REDGURU - agreed about the permanent ignore (forced if it has to be) between needto, angel and Dunk

agreed about SoreArms too - he should have learned his lesson by now. He should come back too.

There is multiple precedents for the mandatory ignore between two parties. I am not going into details, as I don't want to bring up old drama. Suffice it to say, if you can't be civil, that don't respond to each other at all.

He was an asshole to me too, but I was not being a pricj back to him, so eventually he apologized few times for being a prick to me. I think all you girls should follow my example

i think quite a few members here target certain individuals to pick efights with and make stupid remarks about. its part of the chat board and real life. who cares what these people do to make themselves feel better about their insecurities. a majority of them wouldn't say these things to you in real life, they just have a computer and x amount of distance inbetween you. people should really just not bother if they don't like you or what you post but they get more of a kick out of making fun of you. in reality you should just laugh at them because they have nothing better to do then try to make you insecure about yourself and make themselves feel better about their own insecurities

If that is the case than the members (plats, non-plats, etc.) that post stalked Foxxie should be banned as well. Just put him on ignore, add him to the "do not give K to him list", don't argue back and move on.

He never insulted me. Sure, some of his post were sexual in nature. He and I had a chat & he has respected my wishes since then.

The red karma hits are also a precedent. There is a user here who is not to give red to another certain user (Well, he can't give red to anyone now, he can only give grey).

Well, if that works for you then great. I'm not concerned nor do I have a need to have Dunk like me or apologize to me. Your example may not work for everyone, and we can agree to disagree.

#6 Is good as Swole will use that Karma in the bookie forum which is good for the site.
#11 also good as it would be entertaining for about a week. After that week you can give the accont back to Dunk.

Also regarding Angel's reply use the Ignore feature it is not perfect but it works. I have put many people here on ignore for extended periods of time.
 
Seriously, though, it would be very wrong to mess with a man's Karma. It takes a lot of insightful posting to amass those millions and to take away Karmas is tantamount to destroying the account.
