Post up something about yourself......where you're REALLY from, what you REALLY do for a living....interests, hobbies, etc. for those of us who don't know each other that well...and even the vets.

I dunno.....trying to get something productive started on this board. I mean shit, we pay money for privileges like this board, why aren't we utilizing it?

for REAL, I am 24, a Premier Banker for Wells Fargo and I've got a 14 mo. old son. Lifting is my biggest interest, but I also bowl, play softball, write and love football and baseball. ;)

I live in North Texas. My youngest son will be one this weekend, and my first born son will be five the week after that. They truly are my pride and joy. I have been fortunate to have met such a wonderful lady to be my wife. We have a close "extended" family. Most of our relatives live within a 30 mile radius, so we see our family quite often. Some live fartrher and we see them once or twice a year.

I help with a family operated business. Our "Bread & Butter" is concrete, custom built, shelters and safe rooms (severe weather shelters). We build above ground and below ground, "High End" safe rooms. We live in Tornado Alley, and it is a hot item in this part of the country.

I enjoy anything outdoors from fishing to cross country bike riding, volleyball, basketball, football, skiing all of it!

I give all the glory for the good things in my life to God. I am far from perfect, but God has been good to me. I wasn't born with a silver spoon either. I come from a long line of hard workers and our family has built everything we have with blood, sweat & tears.

Right on Sh4dow F4lcon. Good to know you. You sound like a very happy and complete man. I feel just as blessed as you. The only problem (which I'm sure you'll concur with) is that time flies by way too quickly. Especially when you have children. They seem to be growing up too fast. It's only been 14 months, but every day I realize how soon he won't be our "baby boy" anymore. Needless to say, my wife and I cherish every moment.

As for your family business.....that's pretty interesting. Has your family always done this? Have you been through a tornado yourself?

Nice to meet you heavy! And a brand new plat as well, I see. Have you been checking out the boards for awhile before signing up?

Looks like we got 2 Texas representatives and one Cali. Hopefully some more post up soon. Is that you in your avatar bro....if so, you're pretty fuckin cut!

Anyways, welcome to the board. Right on for posting up some info.

I have seen a couple in the sky, but never had direct contact, thankfully. Various business ventures, but the fanily business was established in 1977.

Good to meet you bros, may you live long and prosper.

My name is Paulo I am 23 years old and getting ready to start college in august in pursuit of a business degree. I have tons of interests, outdoors indoors whatever. Use to kayak and rock climb a lot but I have been lifting more lately and traveling. I am a professional welder by trade but am deciding I want to take another path, hence the business school.

I haven't run any cycles yet, however I am starting on a HRT regimine next week. Its a semi-long story and I have already posted about it some so I will save you all from that.

I live on the central coast of california, definitely a fine place for outdoor activity. Hopefully I will be better able to resume soon.

What's up Paulo. Where do you live in Cali? I'm in Vallejo (Northern Bay Area). I think I read your story....low test count I think? Let us know how that is going after you start your therapy. And good luck with the business degree bro. I was going to Cal State Hayward for business like 5-6 years ago, but didn't finish because I started working for a finance company. Have lots of experience now, but deeply regret not getting the degree. Now with a family, a mtg payment and a full time job, going back is kinda out of the question. There's online courses.....but the only valid online degree that I would trust is from University of Phoenix, and their tuition is grip!!

Hey Hey...Livin in Slovakia (why, I have NO IDEA!) From States originally. I own my of design company and do various things on the side. Trying to start up a magazine currently.

Tend to cycle on this board..go through times of great interest to whats happening, then go a few months without taking much notice. sorry about that.

About to turn the dreaded 3-0 ! :worried: Been working out for 6 years, but only bout 3 serious ones. Trying to get back into it now. Need to slow down the aging!!!!

Jerkbox here,

Let's see, i'm 28 yrs old, interface/graphic designer in Philly. My hobbies are lifting, mountain biking, beer, food, art, design, and movies. I would like to try to get into aikido perhaps, and scuba diving if i ever have the money.

At the moment, I am contemplating a new career or perhaps going back to school....but I have no idea what for....also contemplating moving to NYC or relocating to the west coast (san fran), which is more of a pipe dream at the moment.

Cool, I live right around San Luis Obispo. check my gallery and you'll see some cool pics from the area.

Yeah, I should be starting that by monday or so. I will certainly be posting up about what happens.

Later

im Lance,
and im from southern calli. i am moving back to houston texas very soon though. i am a personal trainer, and my hobbies include lifting, eating and sleeping. im also taking advantage on the beach while i still have it (houston's beach is horrible).

i feel like im in jr high again, lol

burnone, jerkbox and shortstack.....welcome and thanks for contributing to the plat board. Good to read more about you.

burnone-good shit bro....keep it up and stay committed. What are some of your lifting goals?

jerkbox-have you been to cali before? the bay area is a cool place to live....but expensive as fuck!!!

shortstack-leaving so cal for texas?! Is it family or money? cuz being in the fitness industry, so cal is one of the best places to be. And yeah, sorry for the "grade school-introduce yourself" type thread, (lol), but I figured it would be cool to learn a little more about some of the bros who post up on these boards. Plus, as you've seen....the plat board has had a shortage of useful threads.

I'm 34 and live in the Dayton, OH area. I'm an accountant for a company that produces bacon. My main interests are training and heavy metal.

That's awesome, a headbangin, iron pumping....accountant!! Who would of thought? Great to meet you bro.

Yeah, I'd be pretty rich if I had a nickle everytime someone has said "You don't look like an accountant".

25, soon 26. Mounties till the end of this month. Then I'll leave with an interesting lump sum since I my health doesn't allow me anymore to perform this job (vaso-vagal syncope). I run a little firearms import business and also co-run a real estate/management business too with my GF (actually her dad's biz). That leaves me little to no time for hobbies... :(

I've only been working out a little over a year and have only been serious (atleast what I consider serious) for about the past 6 months. I grew up very counter culture and was too busy partying and getting fucked up to think about working out. Until last year when me and my ex (of 3+ years) broke up and I found I wasn't the young, good looking 23 year old I was when we got together. I had put on some weight, my face wasn't as youthful, I now use glasses (when driving or when I need to see far, like at a baseball game) and the power alleys are starting to come in on the hair line. I decided that out of all these things, being fit is the only one I had real control over, so I decided to start working out. I have very bad genetics and because I never worked out before, started with very little LBM (no muscle tone) and high BF%. So I'm still fat and have a long way to go. I have a degree in Electronics Engineering but currently work in software. I'm into Punk, Industrial, Goth, some Metal and hot chicks!

Okay, I am 29 and live in AZ currently... from Chicago originally but lived in a lot of other places including STL (my fav).. Played a little college ball at a smaller school then decided to transfer to U of Mich... Genetic research for a couple years after college, then went back to grad school and got my Master's in Molecular Bio/Immunology while researching in oncology in mice.. (dead mice suck!) Now I am a consultant to the Pharma/Biotech industry (consulting pay isn't all it is cracked up to be)... Lifted roughly continuously and drug free throughout my life from the age of 13-14, with the exception of grad school - that layoff did me in and still trying to regain some of those numbers... I am currently trying to redeem myself for my previous underachieving athletic career through the sport of powerlifting (lifting in a drug free fed-first comp this july) and possibly also in master's comp track and field (really just field) when I am eligible in a year...

I'm a 46, almost 47 year old executive. I spent the last 25 years in software doing all sorts of different things and a considerable amount of that time doing consulting work.

I have a gorgeous wife, 2 natural sons, 2 step-sons and one we kind of brought in an nurtured for a couple of years since his parents threw him out. The boys have been out on their own for about 6 years now, some a bit longer.

I enjoy reading, lifting, gardening, fishing, camping, hunting, and spending as much time as I can with the spousal unit. We have 74 acres of land in Washington overlooking the Columbia river that we hope to build on and retire to, and presently have a beautiful home in Carlsbad, CA.

I started lifting in my early-mid 30's at 128lbs soaking wet. I'm presently 235+lbs and still hitting the weights hard. I've been in andropause for approximately the last 8 years, but have been on treatment for just barely a year. Although, at present, I'm augmenting my treatment. ;)

Thanks bros. Very interesting indeed. Sawastea started out right (in Dallas) ah well. Becoming, you are very interesting brother. I am glad to know you, and I wish all of you continued success and prosperity. Man I enjoy it when people let you glimpse into their "real life". Its like a breath of fresh air after leaving a smoke filled room. Please continue to post Plats. This is good stuff.

I figured I'd chime in here.

I'm 22 and live in Auburn, AL. I am currently working fulltime and going to college. I like to party and have fun, but surprisingly I do it very little and I hate working so hard to throw it all away on a night of drinking. I wish more people understood this.

I've been in AL for about 10 years now and it is what I call home. I was origionally born in Cali. So lucky you guys that are still there. Threre is nothing like going to the beach and then if your board take some time and drive right up to the mountains and play in the snow. I was born in Camarillo and when I was 4 we moved inland to Fontana.

I for some strange reason miss the earthquakes. I don't miss Smokey the Bear and big ass fires rolling down the mountians. I remember when I was in Fontana there was a big ass fire. I'm not sure if it was the 1985 fire or the 1989, but we had to hold our shirts over our nose and mouth to keep from breathing in the ashes falling from the sky while we were at school.

Don't worry about those people dude... Where will they end up? How will it help you? Screw them, their losers.

Just caught this thread.

I'm 20 years old. A business management major at NIU.

Played highschool ball at a fairly high level which kept me in shape and got me into lifting around the age of 13-14.

Decided to go the university route instead of sticking with basketball at some division 3 school (plus, was a little burntout after 12 months of bball for 4 years)

My freshmen year @ college I didn't lift at all. Sad really, and pathetic :D. Started getting "skinny fat" drinking too much, etc. etc. Started to change all that the beginning of my sophmoore year and been making some great progress. I've exceeded all my previous numbers which is cool. I don't feel like I'm "catching up" but rather am entering a level where I've never been before. I love it.

Nice to read all your posts, I just learned a lot about all of ya :)

Sorta late to the thread, but anyway...

I'm from north Texas. I'm a project (electronics) engineer for a Federal Agency. I turn 55 in October. I've been lifting off and on for a number of years.

Been married 21 years.

I am a conservative Republican and support our military 100%. I hate government intrusion in certain areas of our lives so I suppose I have some Libertarian tendencies.

I am all for the intelligent use of steroids because of the benefit I derive from their use.

Love SciFi and comic book heros. The latest batch of Marvel comix movies are 'da bomb.

PEACE

Thought this thread could use a little canadian flavour...Mike from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Sale Rep for a tobacco company....I know I know but I don't smoke or promote it. Management student with one more painful year to go and I love to lift weights.

rock on bros! thanks for your replies. It is good to hear from a Canadian as well. There are plenty of good Canadian bros here. Good Stuff Viper, Chewy, BoogerSnak (wtf?) :),HardLife, and Velvett that was not much of a glimpse into your world babe. I am certain you have a few details you could share.

Nice to hear from some of the bros I'm not familiar with.

I'm 34 (35 in NOV - OH dear GOD!) and I'm a born and rasied New Yorker.

I was a competitive/pro figure skater and now I do work as an interior designer.

I was first introduced to weights and speed skating back in the early 80’s as additional training for skating. I’ve been training on and off since and after finally getting over coming two ridiculous injuries and weird health issues these past two years I've found my groove again.

I've been rollerblading since the late 80's and often us this as cardio for the spring-fall months.

I like a quite simple life, I like to read, write, cook, used to paint (it's been a while) and I like movie, Sci-fi channel, Discovery and home shows (go figure).

I live in Minneapolis but just bought a house in St Paul. I'm thinking we're going to move over the 4th of July. We bought the house in mid-March and pretty much gutted most of the upstairs down to the studs. All of the trimming and casing got done last weekend and now we just need to get the carpets cleaned.

I work in accounting which isn't my cup of tea. I actually took accounting in college and dropped it after one day. I've not been around a heck of a lot as of late because I'm in nursing school. I can't wait to graduate and have an interesting job that allows me the opportunity to branch off in many directions. Plus nursing school is allowing me to take more and more of the dorky science classes I adore.

I'm a fantasy genre junkie. I love to read when I can steal away moments (like at red lights). I've also been planning a wedding which has been an experience to say that least. Focusing on going on my honeymoon in January keeps me sane. Thinking about running away from my life for a bit makes me blissful.

Better late than never I guess.

I live in Denver with my girlfriend of 6 months today. We started off very quickly and moved in 2 weeks after we met. I am 27 years old, working on my MBA and work full time as a business technology consultant. I have been lifting for 4 years steady but had a bad accident in January that left me crippled for 4 months. I went from 225 8%bf to 185 15%. Now I am about 208 10% and trying to get rid of these love handles. I have to get back in shape as me and the girl like to play around a little and you have to look good while you’re out. That is a shot of her in the avatar. Nice to meet you all.

ok...almost 32, Ive done many things. Sales, Management, Owned 2 businesses, used to live in WA state, now Im in So Cal, and currently in Medicine at a busy ER. I enojy it, but I want to write (and make my living that way).
Started lifting in highschool (many years ago), lifted hard for about 4 years then got injured. Then I got busy/lazy, and didnt make time for the gym. I got back into the gym in mid-late 2001 and have made great strength and decent size gains since. Now, nothing keeps me from the gym...no excuses.
Like to read, write, travel, learn (anything), hang out with friends, etc. Peace.

24 I will be 25 in August. I live in Toronto have for almost 6 years. I was born and raised an hour west of the big city. Currently I am single but dating is fun most of the time. I am a sales rep for a communication port manufacture. I went to school for Broadcast Journalism unfortunately it is an extremely completive field and haven’t had much luck breaking in, but I am still plugging away at it.
I have been lifting on and off since I was 16. I didn’t really get my shit together tell about a year ago. I have dropped 3% bf in the past two and half months I am now down to 16%. I am on my first cycle of var. I am hoping to compete in about a year’s time.
I was working a second job bartending and cocktail waitressing up until a month or so ago so I am just getting back in to some of my hobbies. My hobbies include: photography, sketching in pastel, paining, writing, roller blading, volleyball, basketball, horse back riding, dancing and enjoying the city I love living in.

Spanish. Nuclear Physicist. Athlete. Soccer player. Bodybuilder.

And no, I do not build nuclear bombs. :) I want to design nuclear fusion reactors for the production of energy. Probably end up working for the Dept. of Energy in 3-4 years.

Right on Corn, CEO, SuperQT and Fonz..........thanks for postin up a little about yourselves.

Cornobbled-sorry to hear about your injury, good shit on the recovery though, sounds like you'll be back to 100% in not time!

CEO-You HAVE done many things...sounds like you're a fairly successful guy. Glad to hear from you...good luck on pursuing your writing. I too, used to write a lot, but within the last 4-5years, writing took a back seat to everything else (family, job, and lifting).

SuperQT-thanks for postin. I had a couple of ex-girlfriends who were trying to get into broadcast journalism as well.......and YES, it is pretty fuckin competitive! Just keep networking! The connections you have made and must continue to make, will be your biggest asset.

Fonz-Wow. A nuclear physicist?! That's pretty amazing! Good luck to your career and possible future achievements as well.

I'm bumping this. EF has more Plats, Mods, & Admin than this. Where is Smurfy, Ohashi, Shadow, DG, FZ, JB, Seastone, Huck, Guards (dont be mad because I am too sexy).

I still have a pair of BONT Inline skates that I'm hoping to jump back on once I lose all the weight and get my knees fixed. I always loved speedskating.
:)

Anyways, I'm 24 and currently doing Customer Support for VERITAS Software Corporation. Our sys admin is leaving so I'm hoping to snag that position otherwise I will be moving to sales. I was born and still reside in Central Florida. Parents and granparents are florida natives also which is a rarity. My fiance and I are looking for land to build a house right now. We hope to get married within the next year.

Bro, that is a pretty patheitc bio. Age? Occupation (other than pretending to be sexy as F4lcon)? Roots? jeesh. Is it all about sexiness & arse with you?

lol @ "little sexy man"... :lmao: good one. please try again :(

Ok I’ll Play,

I’m 23yrl, I’ll be 24 very soon. Born in Colombia been in the USA all my life.
I started lifting very young around 13yrl or 14yrl I think. I was a wrestler all thru Jr HS and HS, I have done Boxing, kickboxing, BJJ but my true love is Muay Thai.
I have a 2yrl son, he is my pride and joy, a splitting image of daddy, I call him “MiniMe”(seriously).
I have been separated from the wife and going into a divorce soon, if counseling kicks in we might have a chance.
My stats are 5’5” 175lbs – 180lbs 8%-9% BF… Trying to get down to 150lbs by early next year. I really want to start competing again and Muay Thai fighters at the 180lb weight class are about 6ft tall, which is a huge reach disadvantage for somebody my height.
If I can’t get down good weight class for my height, I might opt to compete in NHB fighting, height is not an issue there. I’m pretty pleased with my physique, as far as my body goes I’m more concerned with performance as oppose to aesthetics, I can sprint, jump, punch and kick better and faster than most bodybuilders.
I’m totally natural now and looking to stay that way, I really don’t want to run a chance at coming up “dirty” if tested by the league I’ll be fighting in.
I pay the bills by working for George doing sales, mostly for sponsors and doing some phone support. I have a HS education, I might not be the best writer but get on the phone with me and I’ll sell ice to a guy in Alaska. I’m looking at Elite as a Long term deal, I’m learning a lot here and the interaction with our customers makes the job enjoyable. My e-mail is always open if you guys need help, support or otherwise.

Thanks for postin bro....nice to meet you. Quick question.....sorry if this is stupid..........but I was wondering, are stock options transferrable? Would it be possible to sell an option to someone else to hold onto until they're actually exercisable?

29 two kids and a fiancee from south jersey been boxing for about 11 years and lifting for about 13 years. Work as a custodian for the benefits and buy and sell homes and sell things on ebay.

Thanks for postin liquidmuscle and mookie.

Mookie-Are you boxing competitively? and if so....what's your win/loss record currently?

Never turned pro just in the amateurs 33-6 as a amateur won the 2000 phila golden gloves at 132lbs last fight was in 2002. I still spar but I am to heavy nowadays work and kids keep me busy boxing is a young man's sport.

Wow, not too bad at all. That's a great record bro! Yeah, I know how it is....I'm only 25 myself, but with work, my son and keeping the wifey happy, I barely have time to lift. I'm trying to work some fight training in there somewhere, but it's difficult.

Hint hint rock n roll was born here. I enjoy spending weekends at the lake I love watersports wakeboarding and boating and just hangin out on the lake. I am slowing gaining the weight I want I am trying to do it slow and just put on lean muscle so far so good I guess. Oh and I am a pretyy die hard NASCAR fan

24 yo, live in CT, about 30 minutes from NYC. I work for a sports sponsorship marketing agency. Really got into the iron game about 1 1/2 years ago, tore my rot cuff cause I didn't approach the game with the correct knowledge, and now I am slowly but steadily getting my strength back (no thanks to bad advice from several doctors....). I have recently taken a huge interest in strongman and made some simple implements to mess around with on my own. I plan on taking the next year to eat big and lift big and look forward to possibly competing once I am injury-free and have the numbers for it.

I'm 40. Married with 3 kids, and really happy. I am a businessman by day and dad by night. Between the two I train like a madman. Been in the game in one way or another since I was 17(powerlifting/BB). Played ball, Rugby, Martial Arts(Jiu-Jitsu) and generally screwed my body up. SO now it's only hard training. On right now and lovin it. Just wanted to introduce because things change over the years and I like to stay fresh.
Deca/Primo combo... gettin hard and strong.

Thanks 4 bein here fellas......keep the info comin..

I feel like a gate crasher here, since I'm not really a Platinum Member, I've just been given temporary Plat priveleges as some sort of anniversary gift or something.

I'm 48 years old, live in Arkansas, work at the sound technician in a live music venue. I'm 5'10", 230 lbs., and I've been lifting for eight years. I wish I had started when I was much younger.

Mr. dB....wow I never really noticed...just assumed you were plat.

Nah, it's something George has been giving out lately to users who reach their one year anniversary. Dunno how long it will last, there was a typo in that part of George's message. I suppose it's a good marketing plan, the idea being that once a user gets used to the Plat priveleges, he or she won't want to give them up.

zxe,

Yeah powerlifting when I was a young buck....
In '88 I was gettin ready for first BB comp and blew the back. Had to have 2nd
surgery.
I'm here gettin more motivation cause I'm givin it another shot......
Training is life...................

I am here. Strength trainer and involved in higher education. Natural for the most part. Bench and DL are weak. Currently 410 on Bench and 585 on DL. I weigh around 230 now. Some fat has accumilated since I quit ~SC~ diet plan

New Plat! :) It feels good to contribute.

I'm 26 and living in the Seattle area. I work as a contract admin (temp if you will) to pay the bills while I wait to join the Sheriff's Department as a Deputy.

My family and friends are very important to me. It took me moving away from the area twice before I truly realized it, but Washington will forever be my home.

A majority of my hobbies involve being outside (horseback riding, motorcycles, camping, shooting rifles, hiking, bodyboarding). During the winter ice hockey keeps me in out of the rain. During football season you would need to set fire to my house to get me away from the TV. Music is a part of my soul, although my violin has been collecting dust for too long and my voice needs some fine tuning. I enjoy a good movie and I try to read at least two books a week. Sharks have been a passion of mine since I was 10. Such incredible creatures and so misunderstood.

I love living healthy and interacting with others who feel the same way. Weight lifting helped me recover from a very horrible experience and because of that it will always be a part of my life.

I recently broke off an engagement to a great guy. Unfortunately we were too different in too many ways to make it work.

Now, if you want to know more you'll have to ask. :)
