haha... My first thought was Alice in Wonderland... but as I was responding for some reason I rememberd Matrix.

I enjoyed Ironman it was deffinetly worth seeing in the theater.

I saw the first Narnia as well and I liked it, I'll prolly see the new one this weekend.

It's only scary because it's unknown. You aren't suposed to go deeper than 130 ft for a recreational diver, and at that, only if you have an advanced certification or a TON of experience can you go deeper than 60. I was born to be in the water, though, it's like second nature to me. Anyway, once you're under water and you can see everything around you as clear as if it were an aquarium, the fear will subside and be replaced by a sense of awe and wonder.

Meh...if you know where you're diving and know the life in the area as well as respect it, you shouldn't ever get hurt diving. Plus, that's part of the reason you wear a wetsuit.

I should really try to conquer that fear. I have another pheubia. I'm scared shitless of heights. Like shitless....I could get myself to dive with time. But heights would probably kill me.

When I worked in Alaska I will never forget pulling crab pots while in a huge pool of jelly fish. The rope in the king coiler would flip little pieces of jelly fish as it was being pulled from the water. No way to avoid getting hit in the face and eyes. It's the worst...

It was actually alot of fun... I learned alot up there about hard work. I worked a solid year with no days off. Everyday we had mass shit to do.

But we also did some fucked up stuff that I was not happy about. My first week on the boat we went to Dutch Harbor and on the way there my captian told me to get rid of all the garbage. I was like, where do you want me to put it? He said "Huck that shit over board." I was like WTF, for real? So I stand there hucking 50 gallon bags of garbage right in the water. Also when they change the oil in the boat, they would drain the old shit into the water. I also participated in killing 100's of seagulls. Not my proudest moments to say the least and opened my eyes to how fucked fishing was.

there is no law against throwing garbage in the ocean. . .as long as you're like 2 miles out, it's completely legit (i believe). . .lotta fucking garbage goes in the ocean. . .seagulls = teh rats with wings. . .don't beat yourself up too bad. . .the world ain't gonna miss a few seagulls. . .

lol....I don't get why it's so dangerous! :p

Well let me put it to you like this lol... The boat was 110' long, we had a quite a few days of 50ft seas and one day of 70ft and seas were we all had our survival suits on thinking the ship was going down. We also do a thing called jogging which we each take one hour on the helm so we can each get a few hours of sleep. You jog in a strait like via GPS back and forth for an hour then wake the next guy up to take your place. I was jogging one night and it was really ruff out and when I went to turn the boat around and a wave hit the port side and almost rolled the boat over, we had so much lisp the captian flew out of his bed.

Ice was also a problem, we would spend hours and hours with sledge hammers pounding ice off the boat. To much ice and the boat gets top heavy and can flip over.

Pick and boom and crane in foul weather is also a killer. After you pull a set of strings (pots) you have to stack them on deck, try doing this in 50ft seas with some n00b on the crane. It's fuckin so dangerous, the pots weigh 1100lbs. Launching pots is also dangerous... 300 fathoms of rope and if your leg gets tangled your going with it nothing you can do. I could go on and on about how dangerous, you think of it, it happened.

Your right, there is no law... its parts per million shit.

I would get pooped on atleast 50 times aday by seagulls. The fun thing to do (and this was fucked up) was after we pull a pot you rebait it. Now take the old left over bait and dump it right where your going to launch the next pot. Seagulls LOVE bait and we could get 50-100 seagulls all in a frenzy at the side of the boat... Hit the launcher button and BOOM the pot lands right on the pile of the. Captian got pissed cause a few pots had dead seagulls in them and no crab. Yeah i'm a dick and I will most likely burn in hell for that shit lol.

you're kidding, right? other than soldiers during wartime. . .there's no other job on the planet that has a higher mortality rate. . .it's crazy fuggin' dangerous. . .one of the most ungodly and unforgiving places on the planet from a hostile environment perspective. . .you go for a dip, you die, it's that simple. . .plus the crab pots weigh about 2,000 lbs a piece and you can get your ass smashed if you're in the wrong place at the wrong time. . .which is real easy to do in 50-foot seas. . .

My boss did that for a few seasons. He was on the Shishaldin. He said it was retarded hard work and that the shifts were up to 3 days. He was telling me you start to play games with yourself to keep from jumping in the water and ending it all b/c it gets so tiring and you start to fuck with yourself.

He was saying the show is good, but there are things it'll never capture like the smell of bait. I guess it gets so ripe and nasty when it starts to melt, when it hits you, you barf instantly.

My job when I first got on the boat was stuffin bait bags. I was seasick for 3 days and you HAVE to work... Imagine grinding bait all day. I would puke in the bait bin nonstop, it was horrible. Squid is worst than herring bait. We would catch those and use it for cod bait. We would hang them on the deck for a few weeks to let them rot. Good stuff right there. Longest I was up was 4 days and I got an hour of sleep before I had to do it again. It sucked ass bro, coffee and smokes are your best friend. Also went two weeks without a shower... I woke up and remember seeing fish scales on my arm and almost puked.

lol @ the smokes. He said the entire boat smoked but the captain was trying to quit. So when they went to Costco for all of their supplies, the capt wouldn't let anyone buy cigs. Apparently, there was almost a mutiny.

Yeah you get used to it and you get your sea legs. It was fun hitting land after being out at sea for 2 weeks. Was hard to walk a strait line, pissing was also fun cause you sway lol.

I went on a deep sea fishing trip a few years ago and I was bragging "Oh I won't get sea sick I worked in Alaska." Guess who got sea sick the entire time lol <-- me.

Yeah everyone smoked, we all smoked weed also (Minus the captian).

Samething goes for the plants we would drop off at... 99% are Filipino and must have rice with every meal. The plant ran out of rice and all the workers stopped untill they got rice. We had to wait two days to offload, kinda funny shit actually.

i always wear one of those scopalamine patches everytime i go deep sea fishing. . .had a bad reaction to it the last time. . .fucked up my seratonin. . .ended up on paxil for a couple of weeks until my shit got straightened out. . .found out that paxil does funny things to your sex life. . .some people end up not having one. . .however, for me, it gave me complete and unmitigated control over my domain. . .i could bang for like an hour if i wanted to. . .it was kinda cool actually. . .

He he, yeah I thought I was a badass tuff guy, I don't need no stinkin patch. I felt real tuff balled up in the fetal position for 12 hours of the trip. Everytime I opened my eyes I would puke.

The three days being sea sick also sucked. It got to the point where I was eating stuff that looked cool to puke, like tons of jello, cheerios are also cool looking coming up lol.

My Ex was on Paxil for awhile, I tried a pill and it funked me up... felt like I was on acid.

I have never seen a buzzard lol... They sound NASTY!

Ravens are insanely large, I had no idea till I saw one for the first time. They are about 5 times bigger than a crow and super mean, they swoop on you. They are cool because they would run off the seagulls but they never follow you to sea. And seagulls are not cool when they fly in packs of a thousand hovering over your head the entire day. However in this day and age you would not see me harming any form of life (minus a spider).

Not a thing, but you implied you did in your comparison..."no one's going to miss a few" etc.

The seagulls are some of my favorite parts about going to my parent's beachhouse. I'm no tree hugger, but I can't joke about oil spills.
