I loved Physics. Almost declared that as my major at Vandy, but there was no $$$ in it

Isn't this the machine that is going to "slam" two particles together at super-high speeds with hopes of getting a glance of what took place during the creation of the universe (big bang)?

Am I thinking of something else?
