Look how cheap they are w the oysters I bet Deanies has a better one.

I have to come to NOLA just to eat.

We have this killer restuarant/fish market on the river that serves a baddass shrimp/oyster poboy and an awesome cerviche. I'm hungry

Good fuckin Sammich if done right. The one he has is a sorry wannabe from a gas station though

Oysters must be eaten alive, or cooked alive.

Oyster - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

you're knot a coonass

When you open an oyster, you cut it loose from its shell. If it's not dead in those 2 minutes it took to get to you it's barely alive. You store them alive, shuck them, and serve them immediately. So dead for a minute or taking their last oyster breath. Either way, some raw oysters, some fresh horseradish, and a dash of tobasco, and the Nev is a happy ngr.

It's not my fault you don't know southern culture. If we know anything in the south, we damn sure know good food. Not the ridiculously complicated fine dining you can find in cities, but the kind of food that is dreadfully unhealthy but tastes like something your mom should have made for you growing up. When I take my cooking anywhere and I make my simple southern dishes, they are always an absolute hit - example being that pumpkin pear soup I told you about. That recipe came from a 1950's cookbook that was a collection of Southern church women's recipes.

I'll need proof pls. :)

Damn that sammich looks good. My favorite sandwiches when I visited there were the muffaletta, and a killer roast beef poboy 'dressed' and with debris. Never got to try an oyster poboy tho, because I wore myself out on fried oysters at lunch one day; I didn't know how big the portions are down there, and ordered a platter of boiled crawfish AND a plate of fried oysters. Ate so damn much I couldn't even eat dinner that night (one of the few times in my adult life I skipped dinner).
