personal trainers license

Hi everyone I was just wondering what yalls ideas on getting a personal trainers license. I have a chance to get my personal trainers license this summer and was wondering if it would be worth my time and money to get it. The course is a 2 month course consiting of class on tuesdays and thursdays and the classes are like 3 hours long with labs in them. Oh and the classes are at a college. The cost is $500 and the certification is through W.I.T.S. Any help is appreciated.

Find something nationally accredited. Some certifications may work in a small town, but have no credit in the big city. If you do not have an exercise-related degree, I suggest pursuing a certification from the American Council on Exercise. If you do have an exercise-related degree, I would lean toward the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

Well when I went to their website they stated that wits is the number one choice of universities around the nation. Has anyone ever heard of this company or not.

That's good advertisement, but the American College of Sports Medicine and the National Strength and Conditioning Association are still leading the way. If you get a chance, look at some job applications...most ask for ACSM or NSCA. I'm biased towards NSCA because that's the one I hold, but ask around and find one that suits you.
