Im new here matter fact I haven't even got a chance to introduce myself yet, but im really active on a few other boards and I really have to say i like this one a lot. Since everyone seems really cool i thought maybe someone could help me w/ a problem. So i just got my picture drawn for my tattoo and im saving some extra cash. I will be ready to get it next couple a weeks. Problem is i live with my parents and its their rules and all that shit. So i mean I already have one and that's like their limit. Im gunna get it no matter what, but i would like to clear it w/ my folks if possible. They're very stubborn and sorta religious so what can i do to convince them. This is really a personal problem for me and i would appreciate ANY advice from my brothers in iron!

How old are you?
Are u going to go to college? If so, will this tat. change wheather or not your parents will be paying?
Do u have a place to stay if your parents boot you out? Would they do such a thing?
If it's a matter of them just being pissed, then do what u want to do. Your parents probably love u. They will get over it. But if your parents are ANYTHING like mine... then just wait until u move out.

Get the tattoo. Then come home all sad and crying. Tell your mom you only got it because this girl(u luuuuuvvvvv) said she would only date a guy with ink. Then cry a lot. Then tell her you got the tattoo and the girl still broke your heart. Then cry some more. And if your dad thinks your a cryin' panty waste, tell your dad u are gonna go find the jerk who stole her from u and kick his ass. Then maybe cry some more.

My personal opinion is that if you are going to enjoy the benefits of living under their roof, you should shoulder the burdens of honoring their wishes. When you are on your own, then you can decide. You can always get it later. If it really is going to be on you forever, a couple of years to think it over may be in order.

You've probably thought about this, but how big & where is the tat going? Your parents may be worried about your image for when you graduate & are looking for semi respectable work. Like it or not, people do judge, & if your appearence is outside the norm, they may hold it against you.
Holy Shit u guys sure are active on the boards a lot of resposes thanks. Anyways im 21 living at home in texas. Stats are: 220, 5'10, 9%bf. (just completed 1st cycle). Im going to be a physical therapist. Already have a tat on shoulder, but i said it would be the last. I now want a tribal all across my shoulder blades and up my neck (were a collared shirt will cover).....Damn im gonna start posting here all the time! 
Depends on your relationship with them. Well, out of respect to your parents, I'd forgo the tat until you move. If you can convince them it is meaningful to you, that may help.
