a guy I work with just received $15,000 grant to fix up his house and was telling me there are thousands of grants you can get for school, rent, mortgage etc. he said he did it the hard way, but you can go it a lot easier by paying money and joining one of those free money sites out there. Anyone have any knowledge in this field? Which ones are scams, what the best sites are etc?

There's no such thing as free money. If free money and grants were just floating around, how is it that the millions of college students still do things the old fashioned way and pay their way through college with their own (or their parents') money? Wouldn't all these free grants put college tuition loan agencies out of business?
