Perhaps a stupid question, but what are "pumps"

okay ive been on the board a few months now and i always read about pumps for a while i thought it was maybe just when u pumped out a few more reps but now everyones like ohh its so painful, so is it like a spazum? or a muscle contraction? or what? thx!

a pump is the swollen feeling in your muscle after a tough set, like when you can't do one more rep because your muscle is full of blood and pumped up. c'mon man!

'pumps' was a line of shoes that the shoe manufacturer reebok used to make, in the late eighties.

the 'pumps' were 3/4 hightops with an actual pump mechansim that inflated 2 small pockets inside the shoe enabling a tighter grip on the ankles and thus their claim it had benefits for athletes.

the 'pumps' revenued good money for reebok until 1993 at which time they were discontinued for unknown reasons. many reported the air pockets did not work properly or deflated easily.

well nothing really, we were all good broly's at one time.......but for a "pro bodybuilder" its somewhat of a demotion.
