Are there any vitamins or minerals that you took to help your body while going through the initial withdrawl stages?

A friend of mine has quit smoking and has felt really tired and down. I was wondering if besides the nicotine withdrawls, if her body is lacking something else.

it's in his head. nicotine is a mild stimulant, but THAT powerful. He could be depressed about quitting.

My roommate quit he didn't seem any more depressed than normal :lmao: I am pretty sure there are no vitamins missing from his lack of cancer sticks.

Actually there are. Smokers are deficient in Vit C, E, and Vit A. All which have a big effect on the immune system.

Been doing some reading this AM.

And i can't punch her, she is a female!!!

so then she shouldn't be deficient in those vitamins, right?

not significantly,no.

how long has she been feeling like this?

the symptoms of a physical withdrawal dont really include tiredness, in fact its usually the other way around- the patient is anxious and irritable more than anything

if she has been feeling like that for a long time- ie more than a month- it might be best to contact a professional about her feelings of tiredness/downness

it may not be associated with the smoking at all. however for you to know about it it is affecting her significantly- certainly enough to seek professional advice

cheers

It has been the 2 weeks since she quit smoking. I have found info on Vit B complex and how lack of this in a person quitting smoking can affect mood and energy. Can also affect a non-smoker the same way.

She is anxious and irritable as per normal for this situation but has periods of being stressed out and tired.

Thanks for the input!

I tried everything and the only thing that helped me was a prescription drup called "Zyban"

Helped a shitload though, havent smoked since.
