Well, it depends on which God and which religion you are talking about of course. Christians like to say things like "do unto others", but I know many Christians who treat others with disdain and contempt, simply because they believe something different. I doubt they like being treated like that, so they aren't practicing what they preach. In my experience, many religious people act one way towards people of similar faith and another way towards people of other beliefs. They also often try to force their own beliefs on you, usually claiming to try to "save" you. Yet most atheists I know are generally happy and forgiving people who don't judge or try to convert others. It could just be the area I live in I guess...
