People that are athiests: How do you keep a positive outlook toward the future?

There will come a time when you may not be in control of your life. Such as slowly dying, choking to death day by day from disease. Most people do not die easy from a heart attack in their sleep. It's usually a slow process and psychosis often sets in towards the end. I'm not arguing that there is a god or not a god. I would just think those that have faith (even if it's bullshit) would have a less painful time when going thru the pangs of death. A lady that worked in a nursing home told me that people that did not believe in anything were the ones that fought, suffered and struggled the most. I'm guessing they were afraid to let go.

When the pain comes and the death comes does begging to some being help?

Didn't the great Buddha die from eating a poisonous plant? I think he had an excruciating death. Not that it means anything.

I fail to see the logic in this statement.

You may be thinking of one particular type of Janism, which does take the 'no killing' to an extreme. They sweep the path they walk on and wear masks as to not inhale and kill any insects.

However, this particular form of Buddhism has given rise to 7 different realities, unlike the Western view, which has two, it IS, or it is NOT.
