Thats what i figure. I worked for a broker and know a few others and they all do the same thing. I was hired at a place that does nothing but financial planning. Most people associate financial planners with stock brokers but there is a difference, especially if you look at what our plans look like and what theirs looks like. I mean some brokers can do planning, but I doubt most will spend 25+hours worth of work trying to help you meet your long term financial goals. Most make a large portion of their income off of trades and comissions and the lager companies that claim to offer financial planning for free probably would have a hard time getting a broker to spend his time comming up with a detailed plan if he wasnt getting paid anything.
