Ladies, gents who travel for work...what is the hardest part of your trip in terms of staying fit?

Is it finding a gym?

Finding ways to eat healthy?

Avoiding fast food?

Choosing the right airport/airplane snack?

I want to hear it all!

I wouldn't think the gh chill would be an issue unless trips are longer than a week

i'm just goofing around. . .

for me. . .while traveling. . .it's just the whole "working out" thing. . .i always do it when i'm out of town but it's amazing how far "off" i am. . .even in the best gym. . .my bench press (for example) will be off by like 50 lbs. . .never did figure that out. . .there's definitely a home field advantage. . .

I hear you - some of the gyms I use are not really gyms - the free weight d bells go up to about all of 15kgs if I'm lucky - the smith machine has a total of about 120lbs and so on - they are designed for women!

Can be all of the above.
The worst is crappy hotel gyms.
The rest is negotiable if you look and don’t settle on “the next best thing”.

Funny you mention that. I've noticed my punch isn't as strong on my "away" workouts either. I think it's a matter of road stress, poor rest/diet, and the ergonomics of the equipment. Not all benches are the same angle, width or length; even different dumbbells throw me off. You're just not as relaxed at an "away" gym. You don't have the comfort of knowing the people and location of all the equipment.

Proper nutrition by planning meals ahead of time will help.

i honestly think it's almost all mental. . .just that "being out of sorts" thing that happens when you're living out of a friggin' suitcase. . .if i traveled more, i'd probably get used to it. . .
