Pecs Bounce

Is this a joke?? Bro if it's muscle thats bouncing when you run it's perfectly normal and shouldn't be a concern of yours. Your thinking of stopping bench pressing because your pecs bounce?? I don't get it. Peace

No joke. I meant to say stopping flat bech press. I have never done much work on incline presses, so the upper part of my pecs are not as developed as the lower part. Maybe this has something to do with it, maybe not.

But you are probably right. I will just have to say screw it and not worry about it.

Thanks!

Dear Bro,

I would like to see a picture of your booby! Honestly, I don't think its as bad as you say it is. Because it is a muscle that sticks out, gravity is going to have a say on pushing it down, and when you run you push it up. If your pecs are jiggling, its because you have fat there... Run more

This might sound a little strange, but I noticed my pecs are bouncing up and down when I run. This probably looks very strange when I run shirtless in the beach. I have no clue about what to do except to stop doing flat bench presses. Any suggestions? --no bra suggestions please http://www.elitefitness.com/forum/newthread.php?do=newthread&f=76#

Run more? Bro, I am a marathon runner. Next race is the Jungfrau Marathon in Switzerland. 26 miles uphill. Should be fun. And it's definitely not fat. I am very lean. No idea on the BF %. I have a Tanita scale that measures body fat. It says I am 20% BF. LOL. No way in hell. I have to be under 10% at least.

Anyway, I stopped concentrating on the flat bench and started hitting the shoulders and upper pecs pretty hard. I think it has made a difference.
Thanks for the response!

I am in the beginning phases of getting into shape and I currently weigh 274 lbs. (down from 280 so far though) which includes some flabby pecs. The running I do is around town because it is convenient and my friend who wants to work out with me can't afford a gym membership. Do you have any idea what sort of things come out of the mouth's of passersby?

I am out there every day and live comfortably knowing someday it will be muscle bouncing and that they will still be toothless rednecks.

Hey Bro,

26 Miles UP HILL!! My god, I admire your cardio capabilities. I have a car for this reason :-) Major congrats on figuring out the problem friend.

Running on the beach is foolish. Who is your coach?

I run at low tide when the beach is very wide. The sand is very packed around here. They even allow cars to drive on the beach.

Why do you think it'd foolish?

I don't just think it's foolish, the expert science on it is that it's foolish.

The reason is that it stretches the foot in a certain way that it isn't meant to be streched and aggrevates your plantar fasciatus. It is a problem that develops with time. Trust me on that - find a better place to run.

I have been running on this beach for many, many years and never had any problems with plantar fasciitis. The sand on the beach here is very packed, not soft at all, so maybe the science doesn't apply in this case.
Take a look:

I did have a light case of plantar fasciitis earlier this year, but it was due to a big jump in mileage while training for the Big Sur Marathon. Taping the bottom of my feet solved the problem.

I forgot to mention that I don't run barefoot on the beach. I can see how running barefoot on the beach might cause plantar fasciitis.

Has anybody tried the new Nike Free? Here's some info:
The Nike Free 5.0 barefoot runner is a revolutionary shoe from Nike. The Nike Free 5.0 is designed to fit like a glove and allow your foot to run in its natural state like it is barefoot to try and help reduce injuries. This shoe is lightweight and has a lightweight liner for breathability.

Probably good for the heat but too light for a high weekly mileage.
