PCT and Training

Fellow Athletes,

What is your training routine when you go into PCT?

I usually take the first two weeks completely off and let my body heal before hitting the weights again but decreasing to a 2 on 1 off split.

During I run a 5 day split One body part per day and take weekends off. Every 8 to 10 weeks I take a lay off anyways.

What is everyone elses thoughts training routines?

I have seen My friends who go into PCT and they loose most of there hard earned muscle because They do not have the levels to rebuild it fast enough yet.

Now I know lifting heavy will increase test levels but Dont you think it is more important to first let all your fibers heal with the little amount of test you got left and wait a couple weeks to let your body start to come back and give your internals a break ( especially the heart ).

PS I posted a PIC for those who know me ( It was after my first bulk age 21)

I try to keep everything the same. I do notch down the individual workouts a bit cause I know that i won't recover as fast as being on.

but a strategy i have implemented is to up my calories so I am able to keep as much mass as possible. this is not the time to be comping. you should of comp'd your tail end of your cycle if you were looking to get pics.. now its time to put on some bulk and prepare for bridge. you can worry about cutting later on.

Definitely agree with you on keeping calories high. After coming off it is never a good idea to be in a calorie deficit.

I know it is still a good idea to train. But is that training really benefiting you at all? I say it doesnt because you are not able to heal properly from it and since you been busting your ass in the cycle and havent taken any layoffs you are probably not totally healed.

I always train intensly for about 6-8 weeks then take 1-2 weeks deload. The first week is usually just light cardio and yoga to help stay loose and releive deep tissue damage. The second week I might workout 2 days and hit each muscle group with one excercise each 3 sets just to get some extra blood flow.

After that it is back to the grind. As far as coming off a cycle. Say you are still training like a beast which is good I admire your spirit But have you thought about giving your internals a little bit of time to heal and get ready for the next blasting session.

You can only stimulate the body with so many resources before you see deminished returns. This is true for juice, calories, training, learning, etc. You have to give it a break from stimulus so that future stimulus will have an effect.

High colorie and good sleep with doing one muscle hard per day with 7 days rest between is plenty of time to rest the body. I'm not talking balls to the wall 2 a days here. I do agree with you 100% on rest and healing. As far as stimulating the muscle for growth I just change my routine from time to time. Confusion has always done me well.
I don't know if there is a right or wrong here, but rather preference...

I think psychologically I train harder to keeps my gains. I also run HGH too so it's easier. I keep my training the same, and so I try to maintain weight and reps as done towards the end of my cycle. Worst case maintain the weight but reduce the reps. High calories also.

I think during pct(especially the last two weeks) its better to avoid low rep sets. They are discouraging when some of that raw strength has dropped. Drop sets, fst-7, burns, and anything that will confuse and possibly stimulate further growth helped me. And lower volume, more food, more sleep, less stress, and one on, one off lifting schedule.

yeah this is a good idea in general as you get older too and you start dealing with soft tissue issues.

its hard not to want to go heavy but lets be real after cycle once the juice starts dropping off it is ridiculous to expect yourself to keep setting PR's.. i mean you were on 5-10X the normal male hormones your body produces and now you are back to normal amounts..

I like to focus on What I call "kai" sets.

Just focusing on the contraction and the stretch. Make sure Im stimulating the muscle all the way, but not straining my body especially my heart.

Too often, guys axccept that they're weaker instead of realizing that the cycle made them stronger. And if you have a good PCT and then jump on BRIDGE, you really shouldn't feel any dip at all.

So just take a few days off, recoup your mental focus and hit it again with that mentality?

I like that a lot.

If your coming off a cutting cycle, and you want to keep your strength and gains, would put up your calories so you have more of an edge to keep your gains/strength. Including a pct of course.

Well, first of all, when u go longer than 7 days w no excercise muscles begin to atrophe even in a person who doesnt cycle. So you really got to see how you feel. Because on cycle you recover so quickly you really dont realize how sore you really are. But what i usually do is pretty much what everyone says. You still have to keep your diet at the same tempo and still get lots of good healthy sleep. Also i usually end a cycle and take 4-5 days off of lifting. I am an athlete so i still excercise by playing my sport. However, i take a short break from heavy lifting then re load my workout but i usually lower all my weights by maybe 5-10 pounds but try to burn thru a few more reps. Really blast the muscles and that seems to work for me. Hope that helps.

I go fucking hard everyday... there is never drops in intensity and i try to go harder than i did the day before everytime i step foot in the gym... toning it down is no in my vocab... i guess i have never believed in that... it may work for some but for me it does not... i do believe that adding ostarine into pct provides a huge difference in helping to maintain and even add to your gains... my pct's are extensive and strong...
