Went to see it on Christmas Day and it was a fun watch - a few loop holes but good nonetheless.

The motorcycle was the best star of movie....yummie I think I need one.

Uma looked drawn and too shiny and Ben looks like he's been hitting the botox too hard. Arron was delicious as always if you could get beyond his character.

SIDENOTE:

When did movie going become such a rip off?

$4.75 for a large soda?

How do teenagers go to the movies these days?

Don't mind me.
$20 for a dvd
$18 for movie tickets

Is it me or is that crazy?

you need to post a whole lot more on here girl, too many people not being put in their rightfull places at the moment ; )

movies are a total ripoff.

when i was in high school, i would always invite girls over to 'watch movies' like 'seven', 'american history x', 'scarface'.

not exactly 'chick flicks'.

Last time we went to the movies it was $4.50 for a bottle of water. What the hell? I wish I'd just gone to the gas station and gotten the same bottle for 99 cents.

Same happened to me. Went to see Gothika 3 weeks ago: 20$ for two tickets, 10$ for a large coke and a regular bag of Pop-corn. Since I recently invested in a home-theater, I guess going to the movies was a dumb decision...

Easy since their parents are paying.

no kidding raina. now the theatres have candy in small, medium, and large sizes. the small is $2.75, the medium $3.25 and the large $3.75.

i like raisinettes and bought the "medium" size and you open the box and they pack in a the candies in a plastic little bag inside the box. the bag takes up about half the box. what a ripoff.

i have seen a few movies over the holidays after not seeing anything for a few months. the chains are now showing literally nine or ten commericals in a row. these are the same exact commercials shown on tv.

If I go to a movie that's not over 3 hours(not recently), I stop by the local CVS or Walgreens pharmacy and buy some cheap snacks. It's cold here so my coat has big pockets.

I'm not a teenager anymore but students use our ID cards to get discounts. That helps.

And I never buy stuff at the concession, the prices are insane. I carry one of my bigger purses with candy and drinks for two. If its the winter my bf can smuggle his stuff in his jacket.

I usually bring a bigger purse to movies and fill it up with water and either almonds or peanuts. But I had my itty bitty "going out" purse which is too small to even hold my phone.

For the dude that thought the movie "borrowed from Total Recall" - I hope that was a joke.
If not, you might want to look up Phillip K. Dick.

As for the prices - movies here are one of the few things that are cheaper - that said, the theaters suck ass and we get shit later usually and it doesn't stay as long.
The candy and stuff costs the same as it does in the stores as it does in the theaters - which is the equivalent of 1.5 to 2 times what it is in the States grocery stores.

In the States I would just buy crap elsewhere and bring it in - just don't get busted or they get medieval on your ass. My dad and I were in the grocery store once loading up before a movie. Dad wanted to see if all of the stuff would fit in his jacket so that he could get past the movie nazis... who knew that blatantly shoving bags of candy into your large winter coat before paying for it would attract store security?
We were encouraged to pay and leave that store and not to come back. That was embarrassing at the time.

Beat me to it.

I just read that the reason Affleck was given the part in the "film" was because Matt Damon turned it down and told Woo to offer it to Ben.

i don't think there is any rule or law against bringing in your own candy or popcorn to a movie. most people feel like they are being sneaky but there is no reason to. what is going to happen? a 16 year old will seize your Kit Kat and call mall security?

Movie theaters nearly all have rules against bringing in food from outside their establishment.

There doesn't need to be a law against it. You are going into a private establishment and paying for the right to use their facilities.
As a result, you have to abide by their rules - they have a rule that if you are going to be in their theater, you don't bring in your own food.

They do this so that they can make money off of you since nearly all of the ticket fees go to the movie companies and aren't kept by the theater.

Because of this, you will find that they are strict with the food rules and tend to be fairly lax about whether or not you pay for the movie (meaning it is easy to get free movie passes, and also once you are in and have paid to see a movie, if you stick around and go into another theater - as long as you are buying food and it isn't crowded, they don't care too much).

Just because there isn't a law against something doesn't mean that a private establishment can't have their own rules which they enforce.
