Pasta - low or high GI?

iwealth

New member
Trying to figure out whether pasta is a decent low GI carb to eat throughout the day or not.. I believe I've read somewhere that pasta made with semolina flour has a low GI, but I'm not sure how accurate this is.

Anyone have any idea?

Thanks

Low GI--about 49 (on the white bread scale); same as oatmeal. I'm still trying to figure out why everyone says it is so fattening. Maybe just because most people eat huge platefuls of it.

whole wheat pasta is better (lower GI) than white pasta...futhermore, as long as yuor calories are under control, pasta is not bad for cutting, unless u are on a low-carb or keto diet....in my opinion, these diets should be saved for contest prep, or when u only have a bit of fat to lose.....cut up without cutting carbs first, then use a keto or low carb approach to get really ripped.....and ALWAYS keep the protein high.

The problem is...

Pasta is a very calorically dense food. It's like 40 grams of carbs or so per serving, w/out sauce or anything.
