Parents, and those who plan on having kids....to SPANK or not to SPANK?

I personally spank my son. But I know all the tree-hugging liberals would rather use 'positive reinforcement', or let's talk about why you shouldn't do this...to curtail their childs behavior... I ain't gonna reward my kid for shit that he SHOULD be doing anyways.

My parents thought it was completely silly to try to "talk things out" and reason with us when my sister and I were little. Plus we were shitty listeners and it wouldn't have worked. If anything, when my mom tried that, we'd manipulate the system.

We got spanked when we were bad. Did we enjoy it? No. Did we learn? Yes. I see kids that run around talking back to their parents and acting horrible-- running around ruling their parents. NO WAY would I have done that. I'd say something and instantly know it was not appropriate and that I'd likely get smacked. I have no issue with a parent doing that in a controlled manner.

Should I go home and reason with the ferrets if they have an accident or eat soap?? I think not-- but they learn when they get a smack on the backside.

I decided a long time ago that when I have childern I will spank them if it fits the circumstances.

I've seen too many kids turn out to be little-ass brats when they aren't spanked.

Lets compare the state of the country's youth of today, to 40 years ago. Parents laid into their kids hard. Hell, so did teachers. How were the crime statistics of youth then? How many teenage homicides were there in 1952? How about 2002?

Today, you can be arrested for spanking your kid.

im not sure which form of punishment i hated more as a kid, getting my glutes paddeled or sucking on a bar of lava hand soap to clean out my fifthy mouth.

I can't belive how common it is to hear little kids cuss at their parents. Even call their mom a bitch. The mom shrugs it off.

I was raised in a strict German house. I still have the imprint of my 6'1" grandfather's hand on the back of my head from doing things like not holding the door open for a lady, or not saying "sir" or "ma'am". I couldn't imagine what would've happened if I ever did anything like that. I'm grateful for the way I was raised, and proud to have had the discipline instilled in me early.

I was the oldest, & i got the shit spanked outta me, when my brother was born, my mom was takeing psycology classes & learning how spanking was a mistake, I'll just say this; spank your child when he or she deserves it, you will be glad you did in the long run.
