in Austin the starting cadets in the Academy make 39,000. Once they get out in the field and off probation they bump up to around 45,000 with usually 10,000 dollars more per year in overtime. There are "Step Raises" every couple of years as well.
hey bro, i make about $32,000 no overtime, here in Ga. we start at about $11.50/hr-go up to somewhere around $20.00/hr longevity- step raises every year, cost of living raises every year usually about 2.5% step and 5% cost of living, $500.00 uniform allowance. they pay for my license and most of my schooling, not bad. alot of us teach, so we get paid by the service for this also and by the college, so we make good money and never bored, love the shit man almost as much as juice. the feeling of hauling ass down the road with lights and siren blairing is unreal, saving someone's life that you don't even know is the shit. well hell i can go on and on,later duckster
