Pain doing leg extensions

Aye. The one thing I don't like about leg extensions is the shear force it can place on the kneecap if the machine isn't set right. If your knee isn't pretty much flush with the edge of the seat, you're putting a VERY awkward force on your knee joint (and your entire femur, actually, all the way up to the hip joint).

Again, like the advice in gymtime's shoulder thread, the best thing to do is lay off for a bit, then come back and do some preventative stuff. Stick to the pressing motions and forget the extensions. Love your knees and they'll treat you right.

I had the same problem with leg extensions
a couple of months ago. So I just gritted my teeth
and pushed harder. I dislocated a kneecap
and haven't walked since. Wasn't even lifting
near what the muscles could do.

I used to get really bad pains in my knees with Leg extensions too. I wear good knee braces. It definitely doesn't seem like there is as much pressure on my knees. Also, definitely warm up and stretch out your legs real good...that may help too.
