Is Italy a hot spot as far as customs in concerned? A friends source screwed up and instead of sending domestic he used a mailer in Italy. So now he's nervous as hell.....

Yes, Italy's customs process stinks but I would doubt the US would consider them a hot spot for illegal packages coming from there? I sent a set of $500 motocross knee braces to guy in Italy last year and they were "lost" in customs for over three months until suddenly reappearing and then making it to the guy. The people at UPS said that Italy is one of their hardest countries to deal with.
