Overtraining with large amounts of rest?

If one were able to get 10-12 hours of sleep everyday should they be able to train longer/more often with the increase in rest?

I wouldn't, it would help you recover faster from the current workload but adding more work could just counter any benefits from the extra sleep

you can't sleep & eat your way out of CNS fatigue imo

I agree.....calories and bodyweight contribute to greater strength gains and plenty of sleep contributes to recovery and providing yourself with a good environment to train in, however, CNS fatigue is what it is and a slash in training volume is the only cure I know of......if you're not sleeping enough, it may contribute to feeling overly fatigued sooner though and just being generally rundown.

Work has just been terribly slow lately, maybe 30 minutes of real work per day, so I've been accidently sleeping in the storage room (Im the only one with a key haha). Just wondering with all this added rest if I should try and kick it up a notch in the gym, looks like Ill stick to what Ive been doing.
