I'm down 10lbs since darden fest and my strength is still rising which is awesome. I also feel alot better

I got 135 for 2 sets of 8 reps on the 2 inch thick bar today which is a big pr for me. I could never even clean 135 on the thick bar before because I just could not grip it right. The "clean" was the hardest part if you could even call it a clean.

This was after 4 board presses so that is a pr as I usually do my OHP first

the beautiful thing about strongman... it don't matter HOW you move the weight, as long as you move it.... good work big man

first of all that's awesome.

i have a question though, how come you rowed it off the ground and cleaned it with bent arms? isn't it easier to keep arms straight until later in the movement, like a power clean? or does rowing like that help you maintain grip?

i would say those enter jerk territory in my opinion,

but good job nonetheless.

that thick bar has gotta be tough

You sure your last name isn't Marunde???? ;)

The thick bar clean is SOOOOOO much different than a OL bar clean huh?

Good job man...

looks like you were trying to row the weight up on the pull from the floor :)

I don't powerclean like that at all....it just started slipping from my hands and i naturally did that for some reason...weird

Nearly every Pro I've seen do a clean with a 2" bar or larger...does it nearly the same way. You've seen, and laughed WITH me, at my thick bar clean...lol. I am now thinking that everyone does a thick bar clean the same way. I don't realize how much it helps for the bar to roll...

I have never seen that thick a bar before in any gym. The normal one i use weighs 20kg , i think. How heavy is that bar?

your press looked very solid.. like it was not problem for you!! Just keep working on your clean..I actually prefer a thick bar clean. It seems so much easier for me :insane:
I could tell you were proud. Great job t3c

As someone else said, that looked more like a jerk than a push press or overhead press. I think of of overhead press as no leg drive at all and certainly no dip to "catch" the weight.

Anyway, keep it up, still a great job.
