Overhead press in a 5*5 routine

I am doing a 5*5 routine were I have two bench days a week. The second bp day was usually reserved for light chest/tri work and some speed work. I was thinking about making this second bp day dedicated to standing overhead press 5*5, followed by some light tri/chest work. Does overhead strength carry over to the bench? Is working my upper body hard twice in a week not a good idea? Any other powerlifters incorporate overhead's in their routine? Thanks for your insight...
 
I have a hard OHP day where I vary my sets, reps, and exercises for whatever contest I have coming up.

I also do DE Upper day...

I have a dynamic overhead and a max effort overhead day. I recover no problem from that schedule.

It depends on your fitness level. If you have good recovery and work capacity then you'll be fine.

The only routine that I found hard to recover from was metal militia.

Overhead strength does carry over to the bench. Your idea looks good.
