Outdoor Kitty Missing

We trapped her and brought her to the VET ER where she was given a quick exam and put into a cage until tomorrow when they will knock her out do some tests, clean and irrigate the wound and see if they can stitch her up or not.

An animal attacked her and went for her throat, you can see the puncture wounds and tears in her neck. :(

She was so well behaved the vet couldn't believe that she was a feral cat.

Gotmilk - Yep, there are a lot of raccoons out here. Our pet store friend said that one of his customer's dogs was attacked and dragged out into the water by a raccoon a third of his size; the dog did regain control and got away from the raccoon. We are pretty sure that is what happened to her as well.

I hope they can fix her, there's so much skin missing or dead.

We were pretty shocked how tame she was after being caged and while I hate to take her out her outside world we're considering keeping her as an indoor cat. She'll have to recover in the house so depending on how that goes we'll have a pretty good indication as to how she'll deal with it.

i hate raccoons. they are vicious. i'd kill them, and then turn them into a hat and show it to other raccoons.

They know each other but with a sliding glass door/screen between them, I have no idea how if they'd get along.

Any ideas, suggestions?

Go slow, keep them in separate rooms, gradually let the indoor cat come sniffing around and see how they react, being prepared to separate them if it gets ugly.

Velv, i'm really glad you were able to get her to the vet.

A similar thing happened to one of my cats (he was mostly an outdoor cat). Tough motherfucker because after like 14 years of being this way nothing ever happened to him. But this one time his entire right side of his face was raw...i never seen anything like it, but somehow it healed completely. It looked like something out of a horror movie but we took him to the vet and eventually after a couple of months he looked like he always did

hope its the same for your little kitty

At work I lost my favorite feral cat a couple of weeks ago. She was run over in our parking lot. Fucking maniacs!!! I'd been feeding her for 1 1/2 years - since she was a baby.

Today a new kitty (about a month old) started eating from my hand. I think I can catch her/him if I can find a home for it.

Anyhow - I'm glad you found your kitty. I hope she recovers well.

A month old - wow that's tiny/

Kitty made it through! Her neck is all stitched up and they left part of it open to drain so we'll bring her back Friday for the rest.
She seems to be doing really well, she's eating, drinking and gave us a kitty turd present in the car in the carrier. We have her set up in our bedroom in a huge dog cage for now until she heals and we can figure our what to do with the two kitties and if they'll get along.

So far it's a happy ending.
:)

She's eyeballing me now - someone wants the pets.
