Do you think it is preposterous for Allen Iverson to be charged with crimes based on 9/11 legislation? I think is is ridiculous. But that happened. Iverson is about as far from a terrorist as you can get.

I agree with you, but personally, I dislike the 25 years sentence. That is too harsh. Not even murderers, rapists, and child molesters get that long in jail, even though i'd rather see those animals burn first.

BINGO!!!! This law is nothing short of ridiculous... Though I don't agree with some peoples' means of protest, they still have the right to engage in som civil disobedience. Hell, our nation was BUILT on civil disobedience!!! Start at the Revolutionary War and move foreward. Throughout our History, almost every major human development we've made has had its roots in some way in CD... Hell, the Civil rights movement, womens' right to vote, blacks' right to vote... If we take away these rights, what are we??? Another dictatorship, that's what... There are laws in existence NOW that cover that kind of behavior sufficiently. If you lay down in a street, and a cop tells you to move and you don't, you can, and will most times be arrested for failure to move and/or disorderly conduct. That's enough, we don't need special laws for that, ESPECIALLY laws that allow people to be called terrorists for fighting for what they believe in, even if they're misguided. They still have the right to protest...

It didn't get much press like the riots in SF because we are a tiny city in comparison, but the anarchists took it over and shutdown Portland the first two nights of the war. If you lived here you would understand the necessity for a law like this.

I agree. But when 1,000 people break a jaywalking law at the same time, you now need a new law to deal with them. Maybe the fear of going to jail will stop them from doing that. I am not advocating a 25 year sentence though. There is a huge difference between waving a sign and comitting sedition. People hear blocked entire highways and bridges. They then attacked people sitting in their vehicles, they burned flags, they attacked police, etc.. Why can't you understand that there needs to be a special law to deal with this behavior?
