the USC coach needs to pull all draft eligible players and play others
when I say "draft eligible" I mean those with decent chances
those seniors with no chance need to be gettin' their PT now

I'm sure there are a few OU opponents having a grand ole' time right now
my Penn State teams haven't been good in awhile
but when they were,they played with class
 
can't believe the skill position players for USC are still playin,
any career ending injury at this point
 
I hate both USC and OU. I live in Big 12 country and have seen every one of their games this season. I have not seen OU play this badly nor have I seen USC play this good.

this game has long been a foregone conclusion
many USC kids have labored long and have been perenial second string
if this is thier last time in a USC uniform,they deserve some PT

well my younger brother was a 3.5 year starter for Penn State
128th player takin' in 93 draft
he was cool with it
these guys practice and practically live with each other for 5 years
many close friendships are formed between "stars" and "scrubs"
sure everyone wants to play
and that's the point

Good post....

I played D-1 ball for 3 years....and I can tell you that no one wants to get yanked from a bowl game.....but giving the second and third strings a run is the way it is and should be.

too bad he did not do well in the nfl
but as an asst in the 9er system he seem to do well

I never said I thought they would win, just said I wanted them to win. I'm a born and raised southern Californian so it was hard enough for me to go against them.
 
I never thought for a millisecond OU would beat USC.

first time was '70 I believe
when Nixon declared Texas the national champion
and then in '73(Nixon was'nt involved then,kinda busy with other shit)

That has really been the concensus of the town. Tuberville has brought a lot of class to our team. Thanks to the president and other staff members of the university for trying to go behind the university's and city's back to get rid of Tuberville, as they are gone now or on their way out!
 
Damn I missed a lot of shit in this thread from going to the gym. At least I got to watch a great game while I was there!

I couldn't stand Bobby Bowden
went 22-2 or whatever when he replaced Pat Dye
but that was with the players Dye recruited
much like when what's his name won the national championship for alabama in '92
with Bill Curry's recruited players
you should share with the board the bullshit that almost happened to Tuberville

If you're talking about Jimmy Bowden he also did that with reduced scholarships thanks to the NCAA violations Pat Dye's staff committed.
 
case in point about Bowden
back in '96-'97 I was married to a girl from an Aubrun family
went to an Auburn home game against Louisana tech
back when La Tech was REALLY an also ran
Auburn was favored by multiple touchdowns
La Tech led into the 4th quarter
I was concealing my hopes for La Tech
it was hot,and they were undermanned and playing over their heads and giving all they had
Bowden pulled a grade school level trick play in which a receiver lined up so close to the sidelines he appeared to be part of the guys on the sidelines
after much substitution to camoflauge the "masterfull" plan
of course the uncovered reciever caught the deciding TD
what a dweeb
even his players had to feel like cheese

and I've played ball
3 different sports
wouldn't matter the shape and/or size of the ball,there's a sense of sportsmanship
 
Jimmy??? It was Bobby as the head coach. I know there was one or two other Bowden babies on the staff as I went to school with two of their sons in HS and one's father went off to tulane.

Those two years were great! Suspension and all! That could have been a National Championship year!

Bobby is the dad, he's been coach at FSU since Jesus died. I'm thinking of Terry not Jimmy. Tommy is the Clemson coach. Jeff hasn't been a head coach yet.

athletes on scholarship are there to obtain an education while providing the school and student body with an extra-curricular "identifying point" and entertainment
heard of a scholarship athlete receiving a "career" ending injury
Terry Bowden yanked his scholarship
effectively ending his education at the institution

it's weird how older men behave,though I'm 42 and very well may fall in many's idea's of an older man
10 years or so ago
I had at least had developed enough observation talents
give me a few minutes to observe a guy in a group in an environment requiring him to perform decisions or at least react
and I could form a decent opinion on the guy in question inside of 20 minutes
most men's failings and/or shortcomings can be explained by either penis envy or the napolean complex
 
I only read the first 70 posts, but

I would bet money Auburn would destroy USC.

Sure USC is good and they scored a lot last night, but how many wide open catches did they have on offense and how many unforced turnovers did OU have? Point is OU just simply didn't show up to play.

On sports talk radio this morning they said something that didnt make it on to TV. During the award presentation, the USC fans were chanting "AUBURN SUCKS AUBURN SUCKS"
Pretty funny huh?
