orals + painkillers

Actually, Advil/Motrin (Ibuprofen) is fine on the liver. Anything in the NSAID class is your best bet...Aleve, Advil, Celebrex, Diclofenac, Mobic, etc. You would try to stay away from Tylenol (Acetominephen) which is hard on the liver.

I agree---tylenol is the hardest on the liver, but advil etc can raise certain liver enzymes that can cause liver damage if the liver is at all compromised. I am not an md, so i am not sure if the liver is considered comprimised during an oral steroid cycle in that a change in liver enzymes could cause damage--

i guess i just agree with the bros above--if there is some acute pain that is out of the ordinary, masking it in order t work out is just not smart.

Thanks guys, that's exactly what I was looking for. I think im fucked now however. I was taking the pain meds at night to try to help me sleep. My fear however, has now officially become my reality. I totally blew my right shoulder. Rotator cuff. I know it, because I blew the left one 3 years ago. I can't even sit down and play fucking socom, shower or do jack shit without excruciating pain, and doubling or tripling up on the advil doesn't help. What an absolute fucking waste! Just typing this reply is killing me.

When I blew my other side 3 years ago, I also could not sleep whatsoever. My doc then gave me a shot of some corticosteroid right in the joint. I felt nearly zero pain for 4 months, continued working out (stupidity) then went back for a second shot, but it did not work. Had to stop working out completely. Right now I can't even bench at all, barbell curl, all I can do is some isolation exercises, and a few cable excercises. Deja fucking vu!

I'm not even half way through my cycle, I'm up just over 25lbs, now I fear I'm going to lose it all. I don't know whether I should go get a shot on this side now. Get off the gear immediately, and stop working out completely. Or simply keep doing what few excercises I can do and maybe just drop the winstrol, because I am assuming this is not going to help, only dry my joints out, and likely cause more pain. I'm fairly certain I already know what the answer will be, but would still like to know what some of your advice would be, on this shitty situation. Thanks brothas.

Actually its best to listen to what your body is telling you, if there is pain there is damage and its more than just muscle aches staying on, masking the pain with meds and lifting heavy sets you up for more severe injuries.
Yes but an anti inflamatory can help Heal w/ some ice ect..........

NOT where tendon and ligament damage has occurred. NSAIDs will hinder the natural healing cascade. NSAID's are pushed by Doc's who treat people daily who are concerned with nothing but pain and are the typical couch potato. NSAID use while you have tendon and liniment damage and working through the pain is a HUGE contributor to more severe injuries sustained by athletes.

What happened, exactly? Sometimes people who think they've damaged themselves at the gym really haven't -- frozen shoulder can happen to men as well as women. The answer in that case is *definitely* a corticosteroid shot in the afflicted joint; without that, you'll get terrible buildup of scar tissue.

You need to be VERY careful with Corticosteroid injections and if you have an injury to a joint and are bound and determined to get one then you better lay off lifting for a few months after getting it, failure to do so can result in significant additional damage to the joint.

What about the scarification that can result from permitting joints to stay inflamed? I know that for my minor joint injuries, anti-inflammatories and gentler exercise result in far faster recovery than either continuing to train hard (very bad idea, I agree) or completely taking time off. But then, perhaps I've just never really messed anything up that bad.
