Options for trucks? Dodge? Ford?

I started a thread about sports cars that worked out really well and was very informative. So here's my thoughts on trucks.

I've decided against buying a sports car. I think I'll be much happier with a truck. I'm just that kind of guy. And there's is only 1 truck I want. A Dodge Dakota with the V8. I don't want a full size truck. It's too big and I just can't justify owning that heavy duty of a truck. While the Dakota isn't exactly small, it's still a mid sized truck and comes with a V8 engine. I'll either get the Club cab or the Quad cab. I haven't decided yet. Of course it'll be 4x4.

Anyone own one? Opinions of other trucks?

I've got one just like that Fro, only it's a long bed. Been real happy with it so far.

I want the short bed. I'd just carry normal gardening shit, furnature, camping gear and maybe a motorcycle so I don't want or need a long bed.

What year do you have? What engine? What is a must to get with this vehicle?

I have a 2000, 4wd, club (ext) cab, long bed, 4.7 V8. Dodge also makes a 5.9 liter which must be fast as hell. They put them in their little dakota roadsters, but I believe you can get them with the 4wd as well.

IMO, get the long bed, ext cab, black. Asthetically, that's the sharpest. I'll see if I can post a pic when I get home if you'd like. I'd get one of the V8s as opposed to the 6. Although get your gas card ready, the 4.7 gets 13/14 city, 18/19 highway.

Also, I think getting a motorcycle in a short bed would be tough. Plus, short beds look...well......goofy in these trucks. I've got slightly oversized tires on mine, a size or two bigger than stock. Makes a big difference IMO, and you don't need a lift to do it.

I bought a ford ranger because i hear they are durable as hell. If you want durability a mitsubishi mighty max, nissan pickup or a ford ranger could be good options.

MmMm Dodge MmMm i went to the national car show.. and they had this 2002 siler extended cab dodge , 4 door , 36 inch tires lifted 14 inches, painted silver with blue flames.. omg i nearly creamed all over it ,

I'll have to wait until I can see the interior of the Club and Quad cab before I decide on which one I want. Total truck length is the same, which means the Quad cab has a shorter bed. And I want the 4.7 liter V8. I think I'll stick with stock tires since fuel mileage will already be not so good.

Color options, either silver, dark metallic grey or black.

Black was my second choice. I would have gone with the dark grey if I could have. They're sharp trucks man. I think you'll like them.

Well, I plan on keeping it until it falls apart. Everyone needs to have a truck. I hope it lasts a long time. I'd like to see at least 15 years out of it.
