opinions on men paying more for car insurance

If the Guy with the minivan in BFE is 21 (this is just sad) and the guy with the Sports car in Miami is 40 (this is just sad too), then I would say they are paying close to the same rate.

I'd rather see the companies go after the fraudulent claims peeps. We had a 4.0 kid literally land his car on a mom/dad here a couple yrs ago. You'd have never guess him to be that driver, thats why they go by age and sex, exactly that. My example above was a rhetorical question.
I understand the dude in a high crime area with a high profile vehicle should pay more for that privilege.
I understand and accept the rule of averages and demographics plays a role in Many Many facets of daily life in a Civilized society.
I don't neccesarially like it in all aspects, but I also don't want to pay a higher price for my fairly safe, moderate 30+ demographic, just to pay the bill for those that wish to walk a high profile tight rope.
When I was younger and more extreme in lifestyle, I paid for it in many ways. Mainly with higher premiums .
And like a lot of other things in life, I complained about it, but now as I am older, I understand the theory.
This has nothing to do with political correctness and the example of the Black male is a little off IMO.

"Because you and your father have virtually identical driving histories and live in the same area... and there's really no reason why you should pay more than he does.... BUT he is more than twice your age." - YES

I understand you guy's points, but...
The Insurance company is not just pulling these demographic #'s out of their Asses.
They are using real accident and theft rates over years to be as fair as they can and still try to make a Crap load of money.
A few years ago they did close the premium gap between young female and male drivers because the real life data showed them females were almost as prone to filing a claim as males in the same demographic.
I know it may not be fair to some but it is fair to most.....
Oh and Warik.. With all due respect, I doubt they would say YES to even the Lord of the rings...
