Open or closed grip on bench?

I actually used to use suicide grip (thumbless) when i was lifting before i ever competed. I changed not because of dropping weight cause i never did. But because when i pushed real hard my hands would ever so slightly slide out a bit. And it caused wrist problems for me. But i use a closed grip for the last few yrs and feel much more comfortable with it. Hell i am nervous getting handed off anything over 550 but if i was thumbless that would be suicide. The more weight you cna bench the more precious and valuable a not good but great handoff can be. And you can get anyone to handoff 300lbs but you get 600's or ther eabout you can seriously get hurt. This may sound stupid but since i am moving this weekend to another state i told my wife the only thing i am worried about is finding a new handoff person!
