never heard good things about highland... I only go down for club openings or special events at shelter or spider club... I couldn't imagine any of this shit going down, but I think your friend should find the OWNER... usually owners have almost no part in the operations of these special nights and what not... it's all manager/promoter creations. The owner could at least have these guys canned.

My room mate used to date a guy that works there. He was one of the sweetest guys I've met. Not that that means anything. No offense, I just find this story very hard to believe or at least heavily embellished. You're always talking about how much you hate LA. I'm curious why you stick around so long? Oh, and were any of the bouncer's black w/dreds?

I don't agree with the handcuffing and beating, but you pay to ENTER the establishment. How long you stay is up to you. 10 minutes or all night still costs the $15.

The most I paid here was like 10$CND which is 7-8$US. That was at a high class/"poser's" club with drinks costing 7$ each. Average here is 3-4$, many of them don't have cover charge at all and drinks will usually cost 2-3$ for a beer and 3-5$ for a mixed drink. 15-20$ is what you're gonna pay to get in an afterhour.

Those prices are VERY low compared to what I'm used to.

Though later on -- some elements that were mentioned were not matching -- so i have some doubts on the complete accuracy of what happened.
