The most I paid here was like 10$CND which is 7-8$US. That was at a high class/"poser's" club with drinks costing 7$ each. Average here is 3-4$, many of them don't have cover charge at all and drinks will usually cost 2-3$ for a beer and 3-5$ for a mixed drink. 15-20$ is what you're gonna pay to get in an afterhour.

Also it's not customary to tip bartenders here. In fact they'd probably be bothered, having to work out your change when they're not used to it. They get payd more by the hour.

Yeah but booze is inexpensive. I remember I Spain I'd pay like 10-15$ to get in but then drinks were 2-3$. Here a bottle of Bacardi will cost a good 30$ (40 oz.) while the same bottle costs 15$ in Spain.

Damn we have clubs all over the place where entry is 50 bucks. the snob-showoff holiday resorts have places that are like 120 bucks for entry

Those only serve to let the rich people hang out with only the rich people. they suck

This is one of those clubs where the well dressed sheep are treated like shit and beg to be taken in and bouncers can do anything they want.

They also scam people too -- like this night. It was advertised as a "J Lo Fashion Show", and all these people show up, and J Lo never came of course. We all know, she was off getting married. I highly doubt she even planned on attending or even knew this club. Another example: Prince was supposed to be at House of Blues doing an on-stage thing last night -- but he was never there. Clubs do this a lot -- get the "word out" that so and so is gonna be there. People show up in droves. Make some bullshit excuse that they couldn't make it. Pocket the huge profits.

I should call up J Lo's rep and tell them how they're using her name to make money w/o her consent. I think she's with Creative Artists.
