The blood, sweat and tears are done, now it's time for my report card.

It's a great quote, I didn't make it up though. I saw it in somebody's signature. I think it was B-fold. But it spoke to me and I use it in the gym to get through the tough parts (and in the kitchen to not get into the junk food).Becoming said:Good philosophy - I agree... onerepmaximum said:I guess it's gonna come down to who shows up. I've heard that there is gonna be some pretty tough competition in my weight class. I know this much though, I have made a night and day change in some of my weakest areas from my last show. I'm gonna probably be one of the best conditioned in my weight class (hopefully). I know what my weaknesses are, hopefully, my strengths are enough to make up for them. I sho appreciate everyone's well wishes.

Becoming said:If you want I will send you a sharpie you can draw a little game face on him....
onerepmaximum said:If no vein shows up in it from dropping my water, I may draw a smile. I expect it's going to attract attention as it is. It doesn't tan like the rest of my body. I probably won't put any Dream Tan on it just so I can have an added dimension that the judges can check out.

I'm already trying to think of ways that I can put an AVI on my EF page, so ya'll can see my night routine. I'll ask Needsize how he did his, when the time comes. You know I'm gonna post up some stuff for my peeps. Thanks for all the encouragement everyone.Sweed said:Good Luck One Rep! and remember the contest pics! Kick ass!

Well, I don't have any visions of grandeur yet, but hey, who knows. I'm about to take it to the house for tonight. I'll be on for a while in the morning before I head off to weigh in. Ya'll hold it down.Becoming said:FZ - It was down in his pics thread in the members pics board...

Thanks everyone. It feels good to have so much support.juicedpigtails said:bro, rock it out!
were you a wrestler?
onerepmaximum said:Thanks everyone. It feels good to have so much support.
I'm from Indiana, bro. You either wrestled or played basketball. At 5'6", I wasn't really the first one picked for basketball. I was however one of the best 125 pounders in Northern Indiana.

I woke up this morning (couldn't sleep actually) and my legs looked insane, cuts and veins everywhere. It is going to be pretty cool if I can hold things together for about 14 more hours. Sh4dow, I put your hushmail address into my cell phone, I'll e-mail you an update after prejudging (if I can think straight) so you can post it here. Thank you everyone for your overwhelming support.

onerepmaximum said:Well, I tried to send an update yesterday but my phone was acting crazy. It's kind of a screwed up story but the result is, I won my weight division but lost to the heavyweight by one point for the overall. I hestitate to say too much at the risk of sounding like a crybaby, but the locals had a distinct advantage when it came to judging. I was dialed in for sure, looking better than I had ever looked in my life, so I'll post pics as soon as possible. I will also do some research about how I can create an avi or mpeg with a videotape. Thanks everyone for all the support and interest. I'm a bit dissappointed right now, I just dropped in to give an update incase my e-mail didn't make it to Shadow yesterday (which apparently it didn't). I'll be around more tomorrow.
Sh4dowF4lcon said:One Point to the heavyweights? That is super cool, local judges or not!You won your class bor! that is great...
It was Dream Tan, you put it on just before you go out and wipe it off when you are done. It's a little messy, but to me, that other stuff is too much of a pain.Sweed said:Awesome man!! You are soooooo dark, how many applications did u put on? and what kind of tanner did u use?? Awesome work getting 1st!!

onerepmaximum said:You guys are all great. Thanks Digger and NS for the words. I have pretty much decided that next year, I'm gonna skip this particular show. Not just because I didn't care for the judging, there will always be politics. I got to weigh in and the scale they had said that I weighed a full 10 pounds less than I usually do. I told him it was wrong and he was like, "well it won't affect your weight class." I started to get the feeling that this wasn't going to be a very organized or professional show. They ended up using a digital scale that one contestant had in the trunk of his car. When it came time for the show, the first competitor was halfway through his routine and his music just stopped, he was looking around like WTF? The Emcee was like, "Thank you. Next!". My routine was cut at least a full 20 seconds short, I finished with my back to the audience. I was pretty hot about that. The flyer for the contest (which was mailed 3 weeks before the show) said that the winner of each weight class gets a jacket. They gave me a sweathirt that said "competitor". As far as the judging thing goes. This guy who owns the local gym brought a handful of competitors (including the heavyweight that beat me). He would come back stage, give them last minute tips, then go take his seat at the judges table. At first I thought he was a judge. He wasn't, but I'm not sure how appropriate it was for him to be sitting there with them. I wasn't the only one that fell victim to the good old boy network that night, so I guess I can't be too mad. You guys have sure helped me feel better though, thanks.
From Zero said:That's ridiculous man.
Don't even worry about it bro. Forget about the scale, the jacket, the guy sitting with the judges. When it comes down to it, your physique is damn impressive, and so is a 1st place finish in your weight class. Be proud my man, and go take home first overall in the next show!!!
It was an NPC show. I'm pretty sure that the whole scale incident would not be looked up too favorably either. I'm just gonna avoid that one in the future. No reason to make that kind of name for myself in the NPC community. As far as the show on April 3, It's not listed on NPC newsonline. I think I may just wait until April 10. I will definitely compete in the Southern USA in Panama City, FL that day.Quadsweep's Sister said:Seriously!!! What was up with that guy sitting with the judges? NO ONE is allowed at the judges table except the judges. That was a bunch of bullshit. Was that an NPC show? The judges panel can get nailed for that one. But "Zero" is right - just move past it knowing you were the better competitor and the other guy does know it so his win is more than likely bittersweet - just like winning a show with no one in your weight class but you... Have you checked http://www.npcnewsonline.com for your contest schedule? I hope that helps. Take care.
